I was wondering when something like this would start.

Our closest Whole Foods is a “365” store that hasn’t converted to a full store yet, although we have been seeing signals of it with certain products like non-organic lettuce disappearing while the organic varieties remain. Higher prices for less attractive lettuce and less of it. Swell.

As it is, this store can’t keep up with demand and it out of a lot of their stables, especially the frozen products. Salad bar is closed (never used it myself). They might as well just close it anyway. Unfortunately, the next closest Whole Foods store is about 30 minutes away buried in downtown Austin. No thanks.

hazard pay of double the current hourly wage for employees who show up to work during the pandemic.

These are the same people who want laws against gouging. /s

My son works at Whole Foods. We are high risk, and he lives with us. He’s been off schedule for the past 2 weeks as we’ve tried to figure out what to do. I’ve told him I don’t think it’s worth it to go back.

We are in the SF Bay area, and rents are exorbitant. He absolutely cannot work there and live with us.

perfect .... one of three things are going to happen:

1. the strike fails

2. the strike succeeds and the strikers are replaced by a few of the hundreds of thousands out of work

3. the strike succeeds, workers are not replaced, and Whole Foods loses permanent market share as shoppers permanently shift to more affordable options ...

Poison pill in $2,000,000,000,000 relief package is on full display. Take your pick, Cloward and Piven or Rules of Radicals. Overwhelm a system until it collapses.

If Air Traffic Controllers can be replaced, so can grocery clerks

Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders calls on Instacart to strike...a service that is helping many elderly and vulnerable to obtain grocery delivery at home

“Whole Worker, the national worker group that is organizing the “sick out””

I wonder which social justice “community agitator” is behind this little project.

Amazon delivery drivers are doing the same; looks like it was coordinated to prevent the Whole Foods inventory from being shifted over to Amazon’s “Prime Pantry” delivery.

HEB in Texas increased all hourly staffs hourly wage by $2 per hour to share some of the profits and they will pay 100% wages for anyone who contacts the virus as long as they are off work.

Dealing with who-knows-who walking in with who-knows-what is a risky proposition at any time.

It’s been my experience that most customers in the stores have been respectful of the guidelines. As always, there are a few a-holes (out-of-towners, from what I’ve heard) who think the world owes them obeisance, and couldn’t care less about the people around them. Especially about the welfare of employees.

Anyone here who thinks they can be easily replaced, better think again. My advice: why don’t YOU try it?

I thought it would start in October - just in time to scare people about possible food shortages. Someone is jumping the gun here... their democrat handlers will NOT be happy.
