They can’t put in Cuomo. First, as I keep saying, it’s too late. There are large donations/infrastructure already invested in Demented Biteme.

Second, you overlook the actual JOB that Cuomo has to do in NY state for the next 3-4 months. Should he leave the gov post to “run” for president, even many libs would be horrified and he would lose more votes than Cankles ever did from his side. It would be the epitome of deceit and neglect.

Cankles on the other hand, has simply built no tidal wave of support . . . AT ALL. She would leave home more this time than in 2016. Michael Obama has no intention of running, or being drafted. Moreover, they are all looking at the likelihood of another GOP Senate, perhaps a GOP House.

I think they are happy to let Demented Biteme go down with the ship.

That’s why there could be a Third Party run, Bloomberg is distancing from the Democrats, and might bring on Jeb or Romney.

five days prior to the convention...Joe announces that mentally...he’s not up to the job
. . . raising the issue of what kind of (political) mental midget it takes to vote Democrat.

Yeah, I could see that . . .

</sarcasm>

Exactly how do the Sandersistas react to that!

I wonder if he was trying to articulate in his feeble mind that the “cure”, what we have done to date, is worse than the virus (crash the economy)

From your keyboard . . .

If Biden runs as bad a campaign as he appears to be headed toward, won’t that damage the Democrats’ brand pretty seriously?

When he threw his hat into the 2020 ring, Biden came out swinging.

He mocked President Donald Trump’s position on China at a campaign rally.

BIDEN: “China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man...they can’t even figure out how to deal with the fact
that they have this great division between the China Sea and the mountains in the east, I mean in the west.”

Biden continued “they can’t figure out how they’re going to deal with the corruption that exists within the system. I mean, you know, they’re not bad folks, folks. But guess what, they’re not, they’re not competition for us.”

Biden’s suck-up to Communist Chinese leaders was outrageous: “Chinese leaders are good folks.”

Yet, we know those same Chinese leaders are committing crimes against humanity. Locking up 1.1, maybe 3 million
Uighurs, in concentration camp-like facilities where a not insubstantial number of them are dying.

THE BLOWBACK MUST HAVE BEEN INTENSIVE-—OBAMA MUSTA BEEN PEEVED AS ALL HELL
Biden walked back his comments at a campaign fundraiser saying: “I don’t suggest China is not a problem. I’m the guy who’s been the toughest on – I’ve spent more time with [Chinese President] Xi Jinping than anybody else, just because the nature of my job,” adding “he’s got problems, he’s got gigantic problems. Doesn’t mean he’s not a threat, doesn’t mean they’re not a threat.”

At that time, Hunter was serving on the board of the billion dollar Chinese private equity company BHR Partners,

Hunter organized a meet-and-greet between his father then-VP Joe Biden and BHR CEO Jonathan Li on Dec. 4, 2013, according to New Yorker magazine.

Running a man with dementia would probably damage the brand for a few years.

My condolences for you max. My mother was a very skilled and highly intelligent woman. She had been an Operating Room nurse and an Operating Room Nursing Director.

Tucker Carlson is saying that that it isn’t going to happen.

IMHO he’s right.

NY Governor Cuomo bears watching. But he would have to find an answer for why NY was so ill-prepared - and any Democrat will have to answer for Nancy Pelosi’s stunt.

They are flat running out of options and time. It’s almost April. Cuomo is stuck in NY for at least three more months. If he bails, he will be disgraced among DemoKKKrats for abandoning the Big Apple.

Cankles is too big a loser. Michael doesn’t want it and has never really run for anything.

Yeah, but the action will be at the (in person? virtual?) convention.

I’m not saying that Cuomo will conduct a coup - I’m saying the DNC can’t afford to go down in flames with a dementia patient at the top of the ticket.

And that Cuomo comes as close as anyone to being a logical substitute not named Sanders.

Appears to me that the “He needs gravitas!” meme Rush parodied in the 2000 election applies to any and all on the Democrat side at this point.

And I’m saying he can’t do it. If he even has proxies try to do this word will get out and New Yorkers will hate him. So will the rest of the country.

Professor, we seem to be talking past each other. You emphasize the agency of Gov. Cuomo, I emphasize the utter impossibility of Democrats down-ballot running with someone who apparently is in early stage of dementia.

Imagine debating your General Election opponent for Senate, House, or Dogcatcher - and being challenged to support the election of someone your party nominated for CEO of the US Government - someone who looked confused throughout a presidential debate with President Trump!

I don’t want to exaggerate, but IMHO Biden is fully capable at this point of making utterly unacceptable statements on the biggest political stage. The Democrat Party can ill afford to be represented by someone in his (apparent) condition. My mother (formerly a schoolteacher, and considered the smartest of her seven siblings) was almost as smart as Biden seems now when I took her under my wing for her 5 year Alzheimer’s decline.

I have a hard time believing that any party would actually take that risk. One way or another, IMHO, the the Democrats will find a way to nominate a dark horse. And, pace your comment about “politics downstream from culture,” that dark horse will “need gravitas.” And that maps to being a present or recently retired governor of a high-profile state.

First, in this China Virus quasi-national-quarantine situation, ALL “down ballot” positions favor incumbents. And the longer it goes, the more incumbents will be safe. In most of these cases (House, lots of the state seats in blue states) , the DemoKKKrats would be the beneficiaries, even in a Trump landslide.

So I don’t think they are that concerned yet about the down-ballot issue. They were with Dinobernie before the CV, but now, I don’t think that’s such a concern. They know Trump will crush whoever they put up. If they EVER want to run Cuomo or someone else in the future, they don’t dare run him/her now and get blown out.

And nobody destroyed down-ballot like Zero, yet they stuck with him through two terms.

. . . but in fairness, Obama only had one loss - the House in ’10 - before his reelect. And he did win in ’12. And the Democrat loss of the Senate - to the surprise, evidently, of "Reid Rule Harry" - wasn’t until ’14.

Interesting. You don’t think the Republicans can wrap Muellergate and Impeachmentgate - obviously doing nothing to support Mr. Trump’s agenda and everything to subvert it - around the Democrats’ necks?

Anything the Democrats try to criticize Trump for failing to do to prepare for the Chicom Virus ™ can be answered with, “Other than obstruction, what were the Democrats doing at that time???"

See you’re talking issues. I’m talking structure. It is simply a matter of fact that you can’t beat something with nuthin’, and so long as opponent candidates of either party are locked up, it’s incredibly hard to beat the “something” in office.

The election window has been sliced from nine months to six at best. The further a candidate has to climb, the worse that short window becomes.
