I’ve been slipping for a long time....
Define slipping. Ice skaters do it with style.
Yeah, these people are working my last nerve as well.
My Favorite Daughter told me yesterday that CO is on lockdown, and she has to have a written permit to get to work and back. (Health care services.)
What a joke. Now I understand her panic. The whole state has gone nuts.
My dad had a rather quaint way of describing people like Dr Oz, though I’m not sure it could be said on a family thread...
Oh what the heck... He would say they had “diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the mind.” Quite fitting, at this time in our history.
Good morning. You’re up early, or late!
Today's kitteh was rescued in Cairo, Egypt.
Good morning.
Early. I woke up about 2315 and tossed for a while, then decided I wouldn’t sleep the way I was going and just got up.
So far, I’ve written a letter, swept the kitchen floor, made the bed, straightened up the kitchen, printed out some genealogy and will vacuum the rug as soon as I think no one will throw rocks at me.
I need to write at least one more letter and get directions for where I’m going on Monday. I think I know where it is, but I need to make sure. It’s taken a while, but I’ve finally figured out why I get so confused in St George. It’s because I’m coming at it from the east rather than the south. Who knew?
The Muppet Birds need to be fed and watered, as well, so there’s another job. This time, I’m going to lower the seed dish because Camilla flips the seed hulls up and over the guard.
What a cute little rescue kitteh! The ears are squared off at the top!
I’d like to mop the kitchen, but, like you, others might object to the noise. I’ll get it later.
I went to bed early in order to maintain my Professional Manner at all times. For my sins, I have cleaned up from the Overnight People already.
I brought my exercise clothes downstairs last night. Maybe I’ll go out for a walk when it gets a little lighter.
I just listened to an uplifting talk and worked on a jigsaw puzzle. Now, I’ll walk the letter I’ve written over to the mail drop and see if there is anything in my mail box besides ads. *blech*
Then... who knows? Check on my sourdough, maybe.
Your car book will get there eventually. I used plenty of tape on the package!
It should be light by the time I’ve done my prayers, and then I can go outside ... including by the mailbox. Birds are getting loud already.
Here it is, the end of March and the temp is 35°. The good news is I saw the Big Dipper. The other news is the cold. If I had an open outlet, I’d drag out the heating pad for a while.
Now it’s almost time for Second Breakfast. ;o]
It seems to be about 60 here. DP is up, so I can get some warmer clothes from upstairs before I go outside.
I think, before it gets too light, I might think about a nap. Maybe. Since I’m not going anywhere, it probably doesn’t matter. I just want my life back to normal so I can shop at 0400 again.
I was glad I had my scarf and gloves for the first half hour. Then the sun came up.
One of the Tom Mockers up the street was trying, not very successfully, to do a rooster crow.
Perhaps his batteries need changing?
Possible. Maybe he’ll get better at it if he hears the rooster enough.
We have wrens and a small meadowlark breed, but no mockers, thank goodness. There were enough of them in Henderson to make me swear off of them for life.
There are quite a few other birds (mourning doves and owls, to name two) but I haven’t seen them to put a name to their songs. Crows, of course and a couple of hawks and falcons. But I don’t know the song birds. I just like listening to them. They always tell me when the rain is going to let up.
