I hope it’s neither lol. Not rosy or gloomy but realistic. People are saying he’s lying about the severity to protect the markets, so it would be good if he would detail why he is confident about our abilities in fighting the virus, what steps are being taken, etc. That would ease some fears that our leaders are floundering (or maybe the public isn’t really that worried, it may just be nevertrump bots on Twitter, lol)

yikes,,,,,

I’m completely shocked about the incompetence of German medical staff. The 47 year old #Coronavirus case developed symptoms on the 16th and had a regular check on the 19th. Medical staff even did a flu test which turned negative. He was discharged without further testing

Only 5 days after his condition worsened he admitted himself on the 24th to another hospital where it took another day to finally confirm his #Coronavirus infection. That is 8 days of being symptomatic!

Whats even worse. Both him while he was already sick and his wife who is also a confirmed case now had contact to dozens of persons, including a stay in a hotel near the Netherlands and taking part in local carnival festivities.

I’ll join you in that boat. I’ve given and given our parents prep food and supplies over the years only to have it be left in their garage through hot Texas summers. When it goes bad, somehow it’s my fault. Nope, washed my hands of it. I’m done. Finished.

Yes, details are what's needed, at this point....to (hopefully) ease the minds/fears of all. And, to stop the Dem/bots, in their tracks. (Not that the latter will ever happen 😩)

From your UK link...

...A leaked government document has suggested up to 500,000 people could die from coronavirus if the disease is able to infect up to 80 per cent of the country, Shaun Lintern reports.

While the Department of Health and Social Care said it did not expect the scenario to happen, the briefing to ministers, leaked to The Sun, said “the reasonable worst case” was for four fifths of the country to succumb to the virus.

The document by the National Security Communications Team warned: “The current planning assumption is that 2-3 per cent of symptomatic cases will result in a fatality.” This could mean as many as 500,000 Britons could die.....

(Also had pics of Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson wearing masks, on flights to Paris....that’s one of the last places I’d be flying to, now.)

Even if they did give the virus a second thought, they rolled the dice on the assumption they’d be safe on a Caribbean cruise.this would be a Caribbean cruise they’d be safe. What they failed to realize is the virus doesn’t know the Atlantic from the Pacific and neither does the ship. It gets passengers and crew from the four corners of the earth and they bring aboard every disease known to man. Not too smart to gamble in this high stakes game.

Oops, looks like it CAN kill wypipo.

60 isn’t ‘elderly’. Most 60yr olds are still working every day.

Great, when will it be available at my local health department?

Has it been safety tested yet?

Or will it be like the SARS vaccine and nearly kill the recipients when they’re actually exposed to any other coronaviruses (like the one that causes the common cold)?

don’t get all righteous now. I might have to quote
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! 7It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, 8yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.

You should try the HEB chili. Not the one in the red can but the white and brownish label. Maybe has “Texas” in the name (can’t be bothered to go look). They were on sale with a store coupon (the only coupons my HEB accepts!) for BOGO. Good stuff. They’re higher priced than the regular red label but lower than every other can on the shelf with the coupon.

HEB would save money by eliminating store coupons and just lowering the price of everything. Still it’s cheaper than Wally World but it has crap fresh produce other HEBs refuse to accept.

Quelle surprise.

Meanwhile, THAILAND

Thailand has confirmed three more novel coronavirus cases, taking the country’s total to 40, and authorities criticised one of the patients for denying a trip to Japan and said the country will step up efforts to contain the disease.

Two of the new patients, all of whom were Thai nationals, had returned from vacation in Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido and came into contact with the third patient, an 8-year old boy, said Sukhum Kanchanapimai, permanent secretary for public health.

Somewhere, in an ICU bed in this country, there’s a case of this that has infected every single medical person that’s come in contact with them. And the cleaning people. And the receptionists. And anyone who sat next to them in the ER before they were admitted.

But they haven’t been tested yet because they didn’t recently arrive from China.

There are 12 coronavirus deaths in Italy: the latest victim is a 70-year-old man from Emilia-Romagna, a Lombard citizen, patient with “important past diseases”. Six minors tested positive for Coronavirus in Lombardy. Most of them are linked to the so-called red zone where entry and exit are now prohibited. It is a 4 year old girl from Castiglione d’Adda hospitalized in San Matteo, a 15 year old hospitalized in Seriate (Bergamo) and two 10 year old boys from Soresina (Cremona) and San Rocco al porto (Lodi) already returned at home. In recent days, a 17-year-old from Valtellina who is attending an institute in Codogno and later also his school friend from the province of Sondrio has also been positive. (THE POINT of Civil Protection)

The figure of the infected people found in Italy is almost 400 people. There are 23 Italian provinces where coronavirus cases have occurred. The regions concerned are ten: Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Piedmont, Tuscany, Trentino Alto Adige, Liguria, Sicily, Marche, Lazio.

In Liguria “the positive cases have grown by 4 units”, “they all come from the hotel in Alassio” in isolation. The president of the Liguria Region Giovanni Toti announced it during a press conference. “They are hospitalized in the San Martino hospital, some of whom have very mild symptoms, in the next few hours the health professionals will decide the therapies,”
