my gut is that we’re now in + at a point where the battle shall be joined - publicly. This is now a full blown constitutional crisis and civil war. Constitutional monarchies, like the UK’s, don’t seem so bad. William, Kate and their kids look like decent people who have been trained to empathize about people whose lives are not as comfortable as their own.
It’s tyrannies you have to worry about, when minorities are driven over and not given a chance at trying their policies out in practice. Alternating policies that can be tried, abandoned, and other policies tried are less likely to cause long term harm. Natural corrections built in. Like the way we reacted to Obama with Trump.
