Good morning. I’ve had two cups of coffee.
I left the room for a few minutes, heard some cat ructions, and came back to find that Jake had driven Shannon out of the Good Chair. She’s on the doormat looking disgusted now.
Eh, 3000! Maybe I’d be more on the ball if I cleaned my glasses.
I thought I’d miss it one side or the other, and hit post, then left to get my tea. I came back and there it was! LOL!
A few minutes were spent in rearranging the counter. I swear low-income housing is all designed by the same man who doesn’t know how to cook. There is never enough counter or cupboard space. I cook and bake and have become a contortionist out of necessity in order to do one or the other.
Anyway, I will have to stop the project I’m working on and whip up a doily for Abbie, whose birthday is Monday, because I sent James a gift and don’t want her to feel slighted. So I’ll include a note about the doily so at least she can look forward to it!
I admire your ability to whip up a doily!
I’m reading a book about how basically everything in the world is designed around men, including products and even drugs intended for use by women.
There are days I want a cup of Earl Grey, but if I don’t get up right then to fix it, it doesn’t get made. :o[
Poor Ol’ Lady Shannon! Jake is such a bully! Except when he wants to nap with his hooman.
I’m on my last sheet of frog stickers and that irritates me. I’ve never run out in the last three years. My letters won’t be the same...
I have to do one for some other people I know, but I want to finish this project, first. Almost done! I’m making it to replace the table cover (luncheon cloth?) that I gave to Abbie and James when they got married. Now that I have a table to show off, I want to do just that. The idea of refinishing it makes me excited for nicer weather.
That orange stripper looks good!
All my peeps love your frog stickers.
I opened the door for Shannon, and she sniffed the cold air for a while and then wandered off. Maybe she’s gone upstairs to wait for the sunshine in her private bedroom.
No one has made claim on Tom’s bedroom? How fun for Shannon!!
I love my frog stickers, too! At $6, it’s a small price to pay for a smile!
Nobody has finished cleaning it and painted it. Vlad is resisting because he doesn’t want to share with Frank, although they’d have twice as much room if Pat and James moved on.
Meanwhile, Shannon loves it. She has a bed, an extra blanket, and we just added some foam padding that was excess of what was needed for the treadmill.
I went upstairs to dress and came back to find Shannon trying to chase Jake out of the litter box. “He’s allowed to use the bathroom by himself, Shannon!”
I just realized that your house must be quieter by the day, now, with four kids out on their own.
All those photos you see of catz snuggly-ing and then there is Jake and Shannon! What a couple of kidz!
And kids at the bathroom door! LOL! Yep. Now I wish I had kids or catz at home. Almost every day, when you post the Morning Floof, I want a kitteh all over again.
(Somewhere, I have a doily I was working on, and thought I had finished and put away, but it is nowhere to be found. I hate when that happens!)
*tagline*
Pat and James aren’t up yet, and Frank seems to have gone back to bed when he was told to get his dirty clothes in the basket and his clean clothes put away. Also, Sally spent the night with her friend up the street. Lots of quiet!
Yes, it sounds like your house is very quiet right now!
There were days when the kids were growing up and I had two big step-sons under my feet when I wanted some quiet of my own, but times have changed. Too much quiet, now.
Still haven’t seen Pat or James. DP is going to take some kids to the gym when he’s done bird watching, but I’ve already spent an hour on the treadmill. I’m waiting to hear from a couple of guys about a music practice, but neither of them seems to be an early riser. My latest suggestion was 3:00 p.m.!
I ran into that early-riser vs. late riser when I moved here. I was used to picking up prescriptions at 0700 (used to be any time in 24 hours) and now I can’t get them until 0900.
Fast food joints don’t open until 0500 (McDonald’s) and 1030 (everyone else.) The only stores to open before 0900 are auto parts stores and tire emporiums.
That forced me into an entirely new mind-set. But I have a really rough time in the hours after 1500. ;o]
Kurt and David are millennials, and Kurt has a young child, as well. I can understand that they’re not ready to get started at 0600!
I’ve always been a morning person. I can remember when I was in my early teens, waking up just when it started to get light, going outside and sitting on the bench my dad made. It was wonderful to just watch the earth waking up.
I managed to adjust during marriage, but I think I was still getting up at 0500, all the years we were in the military. I often had to take him to the base, and even then, it was good to see the sky get light on the way home.
Even with kids, I was up early, having that cup of coffee in the quiet of the kitchen.
ROFL!
I know!
That punster just entered my book of punster legends.
