Crass

I think Trump just lost the military vote.

The Kurds were not a nation.

As far as those Kurds who were in Turkey, Turkey remained neutral through most of WWII (not the Kurds fault), and Turkey entered the war on the side of the allies in 1945.

To say “well they didn’t fight with us in Normandy” suggests that the Kurds really had a choice in the matter, which, under the thumb of all the nation’s they lived under, they did not.

It’s crass.

And to say well “they are fighting for their land” and then dismiss that as not an honorable thing, and to ignore that THAT is what we have been helping them do, until now.

Turkey, in spite of it’s on paper membership in NATO is no ally of ours and has not been for years.

I was doing some searching this morning, and came across this article from April 2018: It's from Military Times, and is titled: Trump wants troops out of Syria, but his generals may resist.

I didn’t get PTSD from war.
What do you know of war (other than you want people to fight wars with rules that cripple their ability to fight) that you treat war as if there is nothing more invested in it by those who fight them than there is invested in those who build bridges?

You keep blabbering on about PTSD which is only tangentially related to the topic at hand.

Um.

Cyprus exposed Turkey as someone whom we had no business being in NATO with back in 1973.

“I think Trump just lost the military vote.”

Absolutely Not.

As for the Kurds, where were they on D-Day?

Where were they during the the wars in Korea and Vietnam?

And on 9/11, were were the Kurds?

President Trump is making the exact right decision.

Unfortunately we have been betraying the Kurds and sucking up to the Turks since perhaps Eisenhower. Nixon certainly did however in that case it was sucking up to the Iranians.
Prior to that the Brits did and even the French!

As for the Kurds, where were they on D-Day?

By that logic we need to be cutting the Australians and the South Koreans loose because they weren't there on D-Day. And don't even get started on the Germans and the Japanese.

Didn’t believe you anyway.
Only a crazy fraud would compare moving from their parents home and a going out of business video shop with abandoning a battle field ally.

I wasn’t comparing building bridges to war. I was mocking your ridiculous Liberal insistence that others go to war in place of our freely signed up military that you want turned into the worlds most costly welfare system of people we pay to do nothing.

I have better things to do then babysit a crazy fraud online.

I knew marines, real marines.

You are a cowardly puke.

“As for the Kurds, where were they on D-Day?”....”Where were they during the the wars in Korea and Vietnam?”.....”And on 9/11, were were the Kurds?”

Ignorant (lacking knowledge) you are ( and possibly Trump is too).

There was no Kurdish nation on D-Day. They lived under either Turkish, Syrian or Iranian rule. There was no Kurdish policy on WWII because the Kurds were not under there own control at the time.

(a) If they were a conscripted part of Turkey’s military in WWII, they were under Turkish policy and Turkey was neutral until 1945.

(b) If they (some Kurds) lived in Syria or Lebanon in WWII they were under a Vichy French government until the British invaded. At no time do I think the British conscripted people from Syria and Lebanon to fight in western Europe after that.

(c) If they (some Kurds) lived in Iraq in WWII, they lived under an Arab dominant Iraqi government at the start of the war, which had been under the British previously and still had treaty agreements with the British. But that government increasingly was leaning toward getting support from Germany and breaking its relations with Britain. It ended with a British invasion and a takeover by Britain (again). I don’t think at any time, from independent Iraq or after Britain gained control, were any citizens of Iraq (including its Kurds) conscripted to fight on either side of the war in Europe.

(d) If they (some Kurds) lived in Iran in WWII, the lived under the Shah of Iran and were subject to his policies. During the war the Shah was getting too friendly with Germany and by-the-by Iran was invaded by both Russia and Britain. I don’t think any Iranian subjects were conscripted to fight in Europe, either before or after the Russian-British invasion of Iran.

Therefor, in neither (a), (b), (c) or (d) were Kurds in the Middle East living where they could make a policy of their own as to who to side with in WWII.

To the extent they were not with us on D-Day, that massively had little to do with the Kurds themselves.

As far as the Korean war goes, some Kurds from Turkey may have been with us, as Turkey participated with us, on ourt side, in the Korean War,

As far as the Vietnam War goes Turkey’s only support was mostly some medicines and some cement. Iran, Syria nor Iraq were participants. But again, those were policies of those governments, not Kurish citizens who lived under their rule.

As far as 9/11 goes, (a) we were already protecting the Kurds from Saddam in northern Iraq, with a no-fly zone we established over them, at the time of the 1st gulf war, when the put everything on the line to openly rebel against Saddam. That no-fly zone and our association with the Kurds of northern Iraq was in place on 9/11. When we invaded Iraq, the Kurds came down from the north defeating Saddam across a wide swath and tying up Iraqi resources as we moved up from the south.

We have been WITH the Kurds in that region ever since, and they with us at each turn we sought to rely on them. They helped us go after the Shia and Sunni militias creating the civil war after the fall of Saddam; a civil war in which both sectarian militias were fighting us as much as each other. The Kurdish north became the one area that was secure, for us, before any of the rest of Iraq.

Trumps comment about the Kurds not being with us at D-day is crass and ignores a ton of history that made that a fact without it ever being under Kurdish control to have been anything else.

Shitbird, only a scumbag sends troops into combat while restraining their means of fighting with rules of engagement which tie our troops hands.

The Kurds are allies of convenience, and many of them are openly Maoist. That makes them temporary allies at best, just as with Stalin.

And the shit you are talking about isn’t war.
Cowardly couch potatoes like yourself used to have the integrity (which you lack in every conceivable way) to admit that what they were sending people off to die in wasn’t a war.

They called it a “police action” because everybody knew that shit wasn’t war.

You want that shit, get your cowardly ass up and go fight.

I have said all along that I would be okay with actual war. Have congress declare war, and go wipe Turkey the fuck out.

But this bleeding away of lives with a force insufficient to do the job shackled by rules that often disallow firing on the enemy?

Fuck that, and fuck shit heads who have never served who demand that.
