I believe thse were originally designed in Israel; infact, I think Ariel Sharon carried one as his personal sidearm when he was top brass in the IDF.

I know what I saw. He had the gold gun with the long skinny barrel in one slot of the holster and a spare clip in the other slot.

When I asked him what kind of gun it was, he said... an Israeli 50 caliber desert eagle.

I have a cousin who has a 41 magnum Desert Eagle which is also gold. You are correct, stick to your guns!

When the Desert Eagles first hit the market (in .357 and .44 Magnum), IMI made extended barrels in 8, 10, and 12 inches. I don’t think they ever made one for the .50 AE.

Looks like something that Liberace would have carried.

“I suppose it would be easy to make the barrel longer tho I have never seen one.” [yarddog, post 6]

The Desert Eagle is gas operated - rare for a handgun. It’s easy to remove and replace the barrel, so it’s possible swap it for barrels of different length & caliber.

Chief sporting uses are big game hunting, and handgun metallic silhouette competition.

Some sources have claimed it’s been used by special forces.

the original desert eagles came with the option of 8 and 10 inch hunting barrels, but that was way back when. don’t know if they still offer the longer barrels.

Full-sized Deagle always seemed like a novelty to me. But the S&W .460 XVRs with the longer barrels seem useful to me. XVR’s in .500 and .460 are hunting guns, but the Deagle is a ... what? (I know, Isreali IDF sidearm, yada yada.)

For those of us who like to read something worth reading an a little better written, try harder next time. This doesn’t ring any bells, pal.

Nice sentence, ding dong.

What’s not worthwhile is responding to any more of your posts.
