The Obama years have convinced too many in Europe that the US exists to serve them.
Denmark has all of 6 million people and is totally dependent on others to maintain its independence. Its diplomats ought to be very very nice to us and it is extraordinary almost beyond belief that being rude is even in their self-perceived bag of options.
Not really if you consider Roosevelt's pledge to be the “Arsenal of Democracy”, Lend Lease, and the U.S. institution of its first-ever peacetime draft.
The U.S. initially did hope to stay out of Europe's fratricide but by the late 30’s recognized it would have to straighten that mess out again. That's probably why the bad guys attacked the U.S.
