I remember when Trump talked about libel laws at campaign rallies. He said that they needed to be changed in reference to special protections for media. Of course, the dishonest media claimed that DJT said he wanted to destroy the press; that he wanted to get rid of the first amendment. In reality, he wanted it to be easier to sue dishonest media.
Horrible.
Accident?
Ditto that.
Thanks for checking in.
Sweet!

Subject: POTUS Travel Pool Report #1
Good morning from an extremely windy Tokyo. The local time is 9:45am. (Monday 8:45pmET) and the presidents motorcade is now rolling now for the Hardy Barracks Lansing Zone. Lots of curious onlookers liked the streets around the presidents hotel in Tokyo, snapping photos, smiling and waving. Many of the hotel staffers also lined the streets to wave farewellmost notably about a dozen hotel chefs who were dressed in their white coats and chef hats. There was one corner near the hotel from which folks waved American flags, Make America Great Again banners and Trump/Pence 2020 banners.
President Trump has a couple of quick events in Japan before boarding Air Force One back to the U.S. A few logistical notes:
POTUS will first travel by helicopter to the JS Kaga, a Japanese helicopter carrier. Your travel pool will NOT accompany him. There will be a supplemental pooler on site.
POTUS will then travel by helicopter to the USS WASP where hell participate in a Memorial Day address to the troops aboard. Your travel pool will be on site for that.
POTUS will then head to the airport in Tokyo for departure back to the U.S.
More to come...

The presidents motorcade arrived at the Hardy Barracks Landing Zone in Tokyo at 9:58am local time following an uneventful trip. Many curious onlookers lined the streets throughout the short drive.
Marine One stood ready for POTUSs arrival. POTUS had already boarded the chopper when the pool pulled in (your pooler has yet to catch a glimpse of POTUS or the First Lady today).
Marine One was wheels up to the JS Kaga at 10:01am local time. Again, the travel pool will travel directly to the USS WASP. Look for supplemental pool reports for the presidents first stop.
The USS Wasp is currently anchored at the mouth of Tokyo Bay, 40 miles south of Tokyo and 20 miles south of Yokohama.
Melania will introduce POTUS shortly.
Subject: Supplemental Travel Pool report #1: POTUS arrives at Kaga
The president and first lady arrived with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe at 10:37 am.
Abe is speaking now. POTUS is next to him with FLOTUS on a platform listening, as the remarks are translated.
I’m having a hard time getting a signal, now that the they have arrived. I’ll send background information in a later pool report.
