This is literally the dumbest article I’ve seen from a legitimate news source.
I swear it could be Babylon Bee.

Gee, let’s do something else guaranteed to eventually cause war with people who by the nature of the endeavor would be in a position to accelerate heavy masses designed not to burn up in the atmosphere at us.

Someone really wants to design military entanglements for the United States that would be even more detrimental than the stupid crap Henry Kissinger got us into.

How about we just go out there first and mine anything which can be mined profitably, market collapses be damned.

Just beyond the orbit of Mars, inhabiting its own ring of cosmic debris, are the remains of an entire planet that’s cracked wide open and ready for exploitation.

Leave it to a tiny group of busybodies with entirely too much time, money, and power to declare the field off limits—lest it become depleted!

Do these morons have any concept of how vast the Solar system is - let alone the galaxy. If we develop the technology to get to the resources, we will never have any shortages of resources. Literally every element is out there in great abundance.

Well, it was all Scotty could do wring more power from the warp drive, anyway.

So that tree huggers can go hiking in pristine barren rock landscapes on Mars? LOL

The only way mining moons, asteroids and planets could become a problem is if it was done on such a huge scale, it changed the gravitational pulls within the solar system, screwing up the orbits of the planets.

You would have to move a huge amount of material from one orbit to another.

If that happened, the earth could move a little closer or further from the sun.

Then you would see REAL climate change.

Permanent ice age or roasting hot.

It is doubtful that would happen.

Even if the mining became that huge, since we would be living in the general area and using most of the materials there, not screwing up the orbits.

Plus very little of ore becomes actual material that is removed from the area, the rest is just tailings that remains on or around whatever body is mined.

So, screw the leftist fools, MINE!

Profit isn’t a concern if your spending taxpayer money.

DARPA has been mining illudium for years and squirreling away the completed space modulators (even the latest Q-36 models) for years preparing for the launch of the Space Force.

How many points do I get for that?

= = =

At this stage, I wouldn’t want to be asking for ‘points’.

“Researchers from the US Smithsonian Institution and King’s College London argue for preserving seven-eighths of the solar system as official ‘space wildernesses.’”

I really, really hope this turns out to be a prank.

These people are dumber than AOC and Biden, if that is humanly possible.

Anyone doing university-level research, who proposes any government has the right to “regulate” the solar system, should be shipped to remote regions in it to stand guard.

“NASA brings forward mission to explore a $10,000 quadrillion metal asteroid that could cause the world’s economy to COLLAPSE....”

We’ll recover from having ‘too much’ iron gold and silver... just like we do fine having excess air to breath...
