There’s a chance that some of the text captured reveals conversations about taking 45 out. If true, what kind of context it was used in, will reveal whether it was a probing query or actual plotting between the confederates. Conspiracy to act is just as illegal as acting.
Perhaps this is one of the reasons that POTUS continued to use his trusted private security team for a period of time after qualifying for USSS protection.

San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit briefs the press on how the police response to the Poway shooting transpired.
He said that the suspect was a 19-year-old man, and that the arrest was made “without further incident”
