Attach a standard 20 x 20 air filter to a standard box fan with duct tape! Works great!

Today’s “Strike anywhere” matches don’t necessarily “strike” anywhere, even the side of the box. Glue a piece of emery cloth to the side of the box, they’ll strike every time.
Put a few wood chips along with some lamp oil (NOT the kind with bug repellent in it) into a zip lock bag. You’ll have a nice fire starter for your fireplace or campfire.

If your bike has disc brakes, put zip ties around the tire and rim between spokes for a field expedient snow tire. Doesn't work with cantilever brakes.

Marry someone who does not cheat; even if he’s gorgeous.There's no way of knowing in advance. I know of two couples who went through one or two rounds of premarital classes and had the big church wedding and lavish reception, and still, one of the pair ran off with someone from work within a year. But the flirting is a tip-off, even if he or she doesn't respond in front of you.

You wouldn’t believe how fast they get dirty. The funny thing is a quality 20 x 20 MERV 10 filter ( dust, smoke et al ) costs about the same as the fan!
