There's no magical secrets here people. It's what all of you have always known: Eat right. Sleep right. No substances, and, most of all...
Get up off your fat ass and EXERCISE VIGOROUSLY.
Jack LaLanne was pounding the same formula into your mother in 1960.

um....my almost 93 year old MIL would disagree...hasn’t exercised a day in her life, ate lots of carbs/sugar for past, oh, probably 40 years...and was an alcoholic for many years...BUT, she got a good start on a farm, so there’s that. She probably did sleep right.

I think I can still do 10 push-ups. Wouldn’t want to take a chance on an injury, though. Better not try.

Nah...I’m in the always exercised, ate well 60 something group...and agree with eating well and exercising (in moderation). Just throwing this MIL issue out, because I think everyone is DIFFERENT...in how much exercise, and how they should eat.

Jack died at 96 as a result of pneumonia.
“1984 (age 70) handcuffed, shackled, and fighting strong winds and currents, he towed 70 rowboats, one with several guests, from the Queen’s Way Bridge in the Long Beach Harbor to the Queen Mary, 1 mile.[42]”
He was the fittest man on the planet for 50 years.

Everyone is healthier and better with vigorous exercise and proper diet/sleep.

How they lived is part of the equation. How they positively effected the people around them? Jack Lelanne died, because he listened to his MD and then got pneumonia out of the hospital. He should have never chosen the procedure. Our bodies are designed to move and we are meant to serve.

Being fit is a separate matter.
Longevity is all about the genes. Jack had a brother, who didn’t exercise all that much, and I believe he also outlived Jack.
