What’s the thinking on why so short an address?
My best guess, I have more than one, is a DACA deal in exchange for multiple changes and improvements to whatever immigration laws exist. And perhaps a border closing in addition to continued govt shutdown until the resistors in both parties get serious about stopping the craziness related to enforcement of current immigration. A guess is as good as a wish. A hopeful maybe.
Good question..if it’s truly only 8 minutes that’s not a lot of time to lay out a bunch of facts.

I am braced for a letdown. Him holding his first address like this for a measly $5B. Saying it’s a national emergency, then settling for only a fifth of the cost to build it.
Then if he comes through with the actual state of emergency and construction, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
