The 2018-19 vaccine includes anti-H1V1—i.e., anti-”swine flu”.

Whether one gets the vaccine or not is usually a function of whether their healthcare provider pesters one to get it. (Some of course go to a drugstore and get it before their healthcare provider’s notices kick in.)
This year, we were pestered a lot!! A busy 26-year-old may not have been subject to the same pressure!
OK, so we agree that she had H1/N1 (swine flu), but the article is not specific as to which type of meningitis she had - viral or bacterial. Viral meningitis is rarely fatal, particularly among adults. Bacterial meningitis is much more serious, but rare among adults. I have no idea how common it is to contract both swine flu and meningitis, but I suspect that it is exceedingly rare among otherwise healthy adults.
I knew and worked with retired General Wayne A. Downing, former Deputy National Security Advisor after 9/11, a guy I liked and admired for his intensity, dedication and professionalism, not to mention his total intolerance for bullshit. GEN Downing was the architect of the GWOT until his departure from the White House. In July 2007, I got a call from GEN Downing’s wife informing me that, while visiting his ailing mother in Chicago, he contracted and died of bacterial meningitis. I found out from a mutual friend about two weeks later that GEN Downing was one of four adults who had died of bacterial meningitis at that point in 2007. Our friend was a senior CDC biological weapons expert, so I asked him if anyone had weaponized bacterial meningitis and he replied with an unequivocal “Yes”.
Draw your own conclusions, but I wonder what she was working on when she died.
WHO and HOW did she get SWINE FLU from??? I just do NOT believe it.
She was in California when she got sick, and that state is festering with illegals.
I have COPD and I need to get the shot every year. I know people don’t think about other people sometimes and there are some people who can’t take the Flu shot. Most people can and should because if they come down with the Flu and spread it to someone who’s immunity is not very good. It could kill them.
bump
We got the flu shot in September, so we’re OK as far as that goes. (We’re 67 and 70 years old.)
We’ll be cruising through the Panama Canal in February, and are considering if we should get any of the vaccines on the CDC site for the five countries. None of the shots are mandatory, but some are recommended and some are just suggested. Decisions ... decisions.
If your traveling to those foreign countries I would get the shots that are recommended!
I think you’re right. Thanks.
Interesting. Her 12/18/18 article was "illuminating" too.
Thanks!
Well, I guess that answers that question - at least partially. No doubt in my mind she really pissed someone off, but, like Seth Rich, we’ll just never know.
Remind me again, what separates our government from that of Russia, Mexico...?
