my wife (who’s not overly political) saw Michelle on Ellen or some other idiotic show and said she seemed like a nice person.
I proceeded to tell her this is all liberal spin. She was a grifter that took high paid political jobs due to her husbands politics. I said she hated the USA and was a racist. I said she was an affirmative action Ivy league student and her thesis was 5th grade level work.

Her answer was...well she seemed nice

Admiration is not necessarily a good thing. It is halfway to idolatry.

Apparently what Americans admire is the ability to somehow get yourself hitched to a guy who can manage to flim-flam his way into the Oval Office.

Where’s the photo of MO as Big Bird or the witch in one of her many tent dresses or the housecoat dress?

Amazing what influence the media has.

Some first lady or other is almost always "most admired" woman of the year, just as the president is almost always "most admired man".

The only exceptions among the men were Douglas McArthur, Henry Kissinger and Pope John Paul II.

The exceptions among women were Sister Kenny, Golda Meir, Margaret Thatcher and Mother Teresa.

Somebody should try asking the question and excluding all past and present presidents and first ladies.

The answers may be too varied and scattered to give a clear winner.

People name a past or present president or first lady because they can't think of anybody else off the top of their heads.

Yes. I am once again disappointed - they didn’t ask me either.

“They didn’t ask me.”

Me neither. And I guess I’m just living in a bubble, or an echo chamber, because I don’t hear of much admiration for either of these women.

“Who admires Hillary?”

Anyone who doesn’t want to have an unfortunate and fatal “incedent”.
