You need to follow the conversation. You took it out of context. The Bible clearly teaches and admonishes parents to teach their children the ways of God, and that isn't debatable.

The idea of substituting Christ with a fat man in a red suit is demonic.

It is a pretty well established tradition in much of the world. Not her place to undermine that.

My parents insisted Santa was real well after I’d figured it out. When I asked my Sunday School teacher, she told the truth and I appreciated it.

Why would you do that to a child? I never understood lying to kids about these mythical characters. I told all my kids at a young age that these mythical beings don’t exist. I told them the presents they get are from mom and dad because we love them and then went on to explain the origins of the fairy tales. I mean why lie to the kid, when he does get older and finds out the truth he/she might wonder why he was lied to by mom and dad for all those years. You think they might question other things you told them. Can they ever really be sure mom and dad is telling them the truth? But granted, it wasn’t the KG teachers place to tell them.

The innocence of childhood is full of stories and fantasies which teach good lessons on a level that children can understand. Santa is about loving, giving and good behavior. It seems that these leftists cannot stand anything good which can only be enjoyed by children, including introducing the anxiety about what one’s biological gender is. Everything is about taking away childhood innocence about who they are before their brains are ready to process realities. In my mind, I see the children exposed to these crimes, yes, crimes, being sentenced to a life which is handicapped because these people did not allow them to develop in a normal way, the way children are programmed through their DNA to develop, unhampered by shocking blows of adult hatreds and malfunctionings. Have you heard that they want to ban Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer, who teaches a wonderful story that one does no have to be perfect to be awesome and successful? The world is vicious towards the few children left in this country and it is up to parents to rise up and punish in whatever way possible those who do anything to rip the joys of childhood away from their children.

Maybe folks can use the “moving Elf” to help the kids...my daughter used one for years for my grand kids, and the young kids loved finding it in different places/poses when they go up in the mornings....

Teacher tells first graders the truth. Everyone gets mad.

Taipei,

Yes, a teacher told children the truth and parents absolutely have a right to be angry. I personally want the teacher to be fired and to never be around other people’s children again.

So, why is there a problem telling children the truth, I am sure you wonder? Well, what other truths would you also like to have this woman tell the children? I am sure without even listing them you can come up with a laundry list of topics that would be criminal for this teacher to tell 6 year olds. Should we tell 6 year old all that is “true” in this world? Even better, why stop at telling them. There are lots of videos out there. Why not just show them a video or two or ten of all that is “true” in this world?

Did you ever meet an adult that was shown or was exposed to these truths when they were 6? I have and one of them told me ‘A child should never have to see what I saw when I was a child’. In short, your snipe about telling children the truth is a straw man argument and is not valid for this topic.

There is something to be said about using myth to strengthen and instilling in our children an example of what it means to be good, caring adults when they grow up. Using ‘myth’ with children is a very powerful way to teach them altruism and caring for your society and community. That is what the myth of Santa Clause is all about.

However, your one line, snipe reply says much about you, in my opinion. I infer from it that you really do not care for myth much in the same way this horrible woman substitute teacher does not. In that vein, I feel sorry for you that you decided to post this one line snipe about this story.

Evidently none of these kids had older siblings. They set me straight before I was six.

The kids should have told the teacher that Hillary Clinton is still not the President.

Someone needs to sent the parents a link to the Reindeer Cam; it’s a very neat look at Santa’s Reindeer hanging out and he even feeds them at certain times of the day!!

Child molesters often use the “No Santa” plot by telling young children that their parents are liars in order to alienate the parents and gain the child’s trust.

“I LOVE KIDS. I dont understand folks that don’t.”

I love kids so much that I decided not to have any out of fear I might have that abuse gene that my dad had. But I do love kids, spoiled mu nieces and nephews, and are working on their kids now.

The way they think is stunning and interesting. I love that they’re so uninhibited in what they say and do. When I see my great-niece (grand-niece? Haven’t figured that out) flitting around being a kid I feel sad that some day she’ll lose that freedom.

i told my girls there was Santa, but people that loved you bought gifts, too. So we shopped for others as helpers.
That teacher’s just a....rhymes with rich, hattip to Mrs. Bush.

... the Scroogey sub, known as “Ms. M.” ...

Why the secrecy? She should be proud of trashing tradition, joy, and happiness for these children.

That’s how it was in our house. Learn about the truth of Jesus from birth. I was in church when I was three days old — the first Wednesday Prayer Meeting in November. Always, always Jesus.

But we did the fun Santa thing, too. Dad had his own Santa suit — and he was a preacher. (Never, EVER, Santa in church, though; just family and fun.) I guess my parents assumed they weren’t raising dolts and when we figured it out, that would be that. I’m pretty sure we aren’t scarred for life because of the Santa fantasy. All five of us kids knew Jesus was real, and became born-again Christians before we were 10.

In the ‘50s we visited a little theme park, The North Pole, in the Adirondack Mountains. You couldn’t go five minutes without running in to Santa. That’s when I figured it out.

So, I guess you never told your children or grandchildren that there was a Santa.
