I don’t claim to be a Helicopter Guru but if “whatever” object comes in contact with a Main Rotor Blade or Tail Rotor Blade things probably aren’t going to come out well.

I worked for Bell Helicopter. One of our Mgrs. had a framed picture of a UH-1H Huey that had been shot through a main rotor blade, while in service in Viet Nam. ...It continued flying and made it back to base. ...The photo showed the pilot on a ladder below the hole in the rotor blade and his shoulders were above the blade. ...The hole was about 2x3 feet in size in the middle of the blade.
At the range of the pic at #9, a slingshot could probably get a rock to the rotors. Yes, it’s a low probability, but low probability times hundreds of rock throwers equals high probability of somebody getting lucky.
