The law states “That such additional duties shall not detract from or interfere with the operations for which the Marine Corps is primarily organized.” Thus, Congress pointedly insists that, regardless of what additional duties are assigned, such additional duties shall not endanger the fundamentally amphibious character of the Marine Corps.”

Just a bit of local (southern IL) color here:
In our little town, there are already two of those pop-up stands on the side of the road, selling Trump swag. We call those ‘gypsy Walmarts’ around here.
We went to an estate sale about 25 miles away this morning, and passed another road-side stand in an even smaller town. When we got to the town where the sale was held, lo and behold, there was another one!
Then I came home and found out that Fox and Friends will be doing a live remote from a little cafe here on Sunday morning. LOL!
I’m sure this happens all over the country, whenever there is a rally. It’s just so bizarre to see it around here.

According to the Associated Press, thousands of undocumented workers from Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador are abandoning their 1,500 mile journey north due to weather, sickness, lack of food, and exhaustion.
“We got hit by rain, and ever since then I’ve had a cold,” said one immigrant. “No. I’m going to make my life in Honduras.”
“We didn’t know what lay ahead,” said another. “We want to return to our country, where you can get by — even if just with beans, but you can survive, there with our families, at peace.”
The caravan has progressed just 95 miles into Mexico since crossing the border late last week. They remain over 1,000 miles from the United States.
