Wearing hats indoors is tacky!
That would be a nice thing, wouldn’t it? But I wouldn’t want it to be Antifa on the other side in case I ever need help from a cop. New York’s Finest are actually all very diligent at doing their jobs no matter what the beliefs of the person in need. I don’t know if they’re as fast in all cases.
Not to mention being impolite.
That was great.
Floofy squee! I heart dat fing!
Good morning. Just as I was dropping off to sleep last night, I got a text from James, asking if we were still on for lunch today, and of course, I said yes.
I asked again for the 5-generation sheet, and he said they were having a hard time getting it, and I said fine I can work with her birth information. And I can. (How hard is it to sit down, put your name, date and place of birth, and your parents info? That’s all a person needs to start, as you know.)
So now, I have to hide the evidence of my recent construction crime. So I’m up from here and will do a busy thing for a while, then come back and get started on another letter. It took me all day to write one letter, yesterday. *sheesh*
Good morning. It’s cold here. I understand about taking all day to get something done!
I hope you have a very nice visit with your family!
Somewhere, in the chaos I call home, I misplaced the bit I was using for the building of the cabinet. I crawled on the floor on my hands and knees, and used a flashlight to detect the thing from a side angle, but nothing. *sigh* I don’t need this today.
Since both Adult Children of other peeps requested water, I have to go get a case of same. It’s one thing for me to recycle the bottles when I’m the only one using them, but I want them to be able to break the seal on the bottles, not say, “Heyyy! This has been used! G-Ma, I want my own!”
When I get back, if its not too early, I’ll vacuum all the floors, just to make sure I get all the stuff. Of course, if I hear it suck up something metal, I’ll have to play Super-Sleuth and dismantle the vacuum to do a hand search for the bit. With gloves, of course.... On another day.
One thing I’ve learned is that the water here is extremely hard, and the suds in the dishwater die out before I can get all the dishes clean. I have a PuR filter on it, but it hasn’t been two months, and I think the filter cone needs to be replaced.
And I thought Vegas had hard water. *sheesh*
When I was a child in Southern California, we had a “water softener.” It used rock salt.
James gramma and grandpa in St George have one, but I had a hard time getting used to them. Living with hard water all my life but the first five years, I always used too much of everything that makes sudsy, foamy, frothy things. Kinda like putting shampoo in the dishwasher.
I’ll be bock!
Thank you, g’orning, and have a great weekend!
Same to you, and stay warm!
I hope you had a nice day. I’m killing time at Your Local Game Store while Pat finishes a game.
The game was “AuZtralia,” and it involved developing a functioning economy in Australia while fighting a nest of Ancient Ones. Pat had fun, but we didn’t buy the game, even though it was 20% off at the demo.
Good morning.
It was fun to have the kids here. The most fun was when I asked them about their initial meeting, courtship, engagement and marriage. They both tell the story but the entire time, James is stuffing his face.
I should have taken the frozen stuff out when I got up yesterday morning, but it worked out. There was enough food to fill them up and though I didn’t really fill my plate, sorta, I was way too full when I got up.
Abbie commented on how cute the place was, and James said he was flabbergasted and thought I would still have boxes and things that had to be unpacked when they came in. They really liked the rug, too, and the frog bathroom! A couple of times during their two hour stay, James commented again on how he liked what I had done to the place, and Abbie kept saying it was “so cute!”
I gave them one of my newly acquired frogs, and while I was in the kitchen, I could hear them play-acting with it, and I knew they were bending it into different forms.
Abbie’s job with the school district is in teaching children with learning disabilities. When she was on her mission in AR, she was assigned to wards with a fairly large number of hearing impaired members. She uses that sign language on her job, now.
I spent a lot of time in the early morning making the place look like home, and vacuumed for the first time since moving in. As I was putting away the vacuum, I thought how good it felt to clean house again. This morning, I hate myself for cleaning house and being on my feet so long!
Now I’m heading for the shower and maybe I’ll feel better about the last 24 hours. I didn’t get to sleep until almost 2100, but that happens when I go beyond what I know my limits to be.
It sounds like you all had a very nice time, and hopefully the shower will make you feel more like yourself.
I was up a little too late and didn’t get up until almost 7:00. Might not have gotten up then, but I knew the coffee pot would shut off, and then there would be no hot coffee.
That’s what I wanted to do this morning — curl up and stay asleep!
My neck is killing me this morning, but I’m hoping it doesn’t last long. It feels muscular, but could also be from a nerve being pinched during the night. Unngh. (I hope it goes away. The pain is actually acting like a migraine, now, darnit.)
Yesterday, I managed to get one letter written and another started, but I have to finish that one and write another and maybe get a card or two penned, so they can all go out tomorrow.
Just a few minutes ago, I made a plea on FB to my BiL, and his two kids plus their cousin, that they all have a nephew/cousin who also lives there and that they should all get together. We’ll see if my request is heard and acted upon.
It’s nice when family members see one another!
The kitten is demonstrating how to sleep without getting a pain in the neck.
