Some Girls (Rollng Stones)
The Lemon Song (Led Zeppelin)
A song that is actually pretty topical these days.
“Christine Sixteen” - Kiss
The second Steely Dan reference today. Got Tix for this evening’s show at Altria Theater in RVA. I have never seen SD live before. Hope it’s good.
The great Junior Wells had a good one- “Good Morning little School girl” - “hand me down my walking cane.” Great song. It is on “Hoodoo Man Blues.” This is my favorite Blues album and Jr is teamed up with Buddy Guy.

I thought Joan played for the other team, anyway.
Aerosmith, 12 inch record
“ANYTHING by Steely Dan.”
Local TV station played Everyone’s Gone To The Movies for their movie review section. Not a clue, apparently.
But go waaay back to Cab Calloway’s Minnie the Moocher- it is about smoking opium, kicking that Chinese gong around- few knew at the time.
And Ella singing Wacky Dust?
It’s pretty much now just a Donald Fagen solo show.
Yuck.
60s...a very young girl? And a death threat? Beatles:
You better run for life if you can little girl
Hide your head in the sand little girl
Catch you with another man, that’s the end, little girl
Would have beat you but I was looking up release dates to make sure my entries were 70’s songs.
Omg I could picture Garrett in that bit! That would be hilarious! If I ever saw it I forgot it! LOL.
Stop complaining about words and concentrate on actions. Anything goes in art except words? Crazy.
Hilarious!!
Actually that song was originally recorded by "Hot Chocolate" (of 'You Sexy Thing' fame)
Last time I heard it on the radio, it was the version with the f*ggot line in it. Wasn’t he discussing Michael Jackson when he wrote that?

A lot of old songs are “problematic”, if you are looking to get your life direction from musical lyrics.
Of course, they aren’t nearly as problematic as the standard hit tune today; Ed Sheeran, just about every rapper in existance, most of the popular femaler artists, they all sing about things in ways that would get teh standard white guy fired.
Anyway, from the Police stalking song “Every move you make”, to the Rocky Sexual Assault scene that everybody at the time thought was the start of a beautiful love story, to the time General Hospital actual took a rapist and his victim, and turned them into the most popular married couple on daytime TV, we live in a different era today.
Baby it’s cold outside — now there’s a problematic song about a guy who just won’t take no for an answer, and pretty much seems to be trapping the woman into unwanted sex.
