a better yet question is
why is she still running for re-election, at age 85 (she’ll be nearly 92... horizontal probably but 92.. at end of yet another term)...
???
why? because she enjoys a sort of quasi-immunity from prosecution so long as she can hang onto her senate seat...
(it is not a legal immunity to be sure, but in practical terms, yes...)
she HAS to get re-elected, or yes, the prosecutions will be, finally, forthcoming...

I presume there
is an FBI investigation in regards to the Chinese spy. DiFi would be the second most central figure in such an investigation, with the suspect being the most central of course.
Lack of public evidence of an FBI investigation is not evidence of lacking an investigation. The FBI doesn't typically publicize investigations, especially concerning persons.

Blasey-Ford seemed confused about Grassley’s offer to send Senate investigators to California. It was almost as if her lawyers (looking to stall the hearing) never relayed this offer to their client. It was in the news can’t she read!
