Watched Solo last night. Right up to the end I thought it was a decent movie. The kid didn’t do that bad playing Solo. He’s a bit on the short side and at times that was a distraction. Then at other times he wasn’t ‘rugged’ enough, but overall not terrible. No one was going to live up to young Harrison Ford though.
Spoilers inc...I actually enjoyed the movie right up until they revealed the rival gang leader and her motives. It completely broke the immersion to have the rival as a fifteen year old kid and complete of course all the usual downtrodden anti-white male crew.
Keep Rian Johnson away from Star Wars movies and change Kathleen Kennedy’s role to selling Yoda dolls at state fairs.
Meanwhile the MCU is set to expand with the acquisition of the FF and mutant properties.

I could think of hundreds of better storylines even if I had to be stuck with TFA to start with. Make Ben a Light side Sith at the end. Have Rey fall and Ben has to ally with his family to redeem her. Put the bad guys in a civil war with each other. TELL SOME BACKSTORY.
But what we got was this... this THING. Not even Jar Jar was this bad. At least he didn’t invade the whole plot!
Hopefully they at least 10 years after episode 9.
