I’m surprised that they had that much variety.

I start the day with a large pot of black coffee. Future generations will not be impressed.

I once joined a (now ex) girlfriend to a potluck where someone brought what I now know as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinuguan . I liked it and told her. She started making it for me but wouldn’t tell me what it was until I acqcuired a taste for it.

There was a hole in the wall hot dog place in downtown Tulsa. It was run by a bunch of Greeks. The best hot dogs I ever had.
I have read that the ancient Greeks considered Sicilians to be the best chefs. Also olives were there staff of life.

I have a bronze Greek artifact - it appears to be an arrowhead but actually is not, it's a spear point for what my Classics prof told me was a boys' spear. The little guys used to hunt up small game for the family table from a very early age.
So the Greeks gave their kids a breakfast of bread and wine and sent them out into the woods with a spear. We give ours a breakfast of Egg McMuffin and a large sugar water and sit them in front of a Nintendo console. And call it civilization.

“Every meal was accompanied with wine. “
Greek wine was diluted with water
Usually 2 parts water to 1 of water or 3 part water to 2 wine
Drinking wine straight was only for barbicans
