“Hipsters riding around on electric skateboards.”

Are you referring to those luxury sedans that outrun the baddest MOPAR!

Where are you going so fast??

They're not in the big cities like LA. Except for short little bursts between lights.

In and around the big cities, they're so congested the only thing these flashy wannabees can hope for is they look cool in bumper to bumper traffic. To some people I guess that's worth $500.00 to a $800.00+ per month for *years*. ☺

Personally, I want something that can take abusive highways as well as perform off-road and must have adequate clearance.

“Oh that is nonsense! As long as you keep your garage temperature above 60F and wait to take the car out until the outside air temperature is at least 30F and try not to drive under 60mph while driving on a route where you can you to use your regenerative braking as frequently as possible (to help keep the battery warm), you should be able to go at least forty miles.”

Yea, yet another TESLA-SKEPTIC!!!, just like those guys that won’t agree with the hockey stick. EVERYONE KNOWS you’ll get 40 miles on a charge in the Canadian winter, if you UNDERSTAND the vehicle and treat it right - not 30 miles as Jonty claimed.

Hopefully JR bans this TESLA-DENIER...after all there is a ‘national consensus’ that Elon Musk is actually God, but hasn’t gotten around to announcing it yet.

Do a test comparison for FR.

Drive your car, then drive a building. Report back which has better handling, speed and distance.

FR awaits your report.

An oil change at a BMW dealership costs anywhere from $50-$150 depending on model.

Nice try, but lying doesn’t help your case.

Tesla has an SUV. 712 ft-lbs of stump-pulling torque.

2.9 seconds 0-60!

Tesla News testing source;

""To be sure, Model X is not meant to be an optimal off-road vehicle - it has a fairly low ground clearance and tiny tires compared to more “rugged” SUVs.""

The ground clearance in those really sucks. In addition, ya won't get far towing anything or with heavy camping loads.

"...300hp!..."

actually the latest ones (such as mine) are 330 HP...

it's a blast- but also very balanced in the way it handles

2.9 seconds 0-60!

Once.

What is it after three 0-60 runs back to back?

Yep - I have a preference for Mercedes, but they and BMW have some fine machines that accelerate and handle beyond what most drivers will ever need (except for the fun of it), are cheaper than a Tesla that may accelerate and handle well but can’t gas up in 5 minutes and don’t require a long wait for a Tesla technician if something small crops up....

How fast is it while it’s plugged in for three hours?

That would be a good question to ponder if most people drove their cars continuously.

I could ask in return, how many people have gas pumps in their garages?

Fill up with gas 5 minutes. Recharge 3 hours. No comparison.
