For the most part people don’t ask neighbors to fence off their property unless there is a nuisance like a big pile of crap they are tired of looking at.

If you don't like lookin' at the neighbors, put up your own fence so you don't have to look at them...

If you pour a cup of vegetable oil in each one, the mosquito larvae will smother, as the oil covers any water that collects.

Banks give mortgages to peeps without a survey?

Hegomonic neighbors don’t do that.

Even if they did, they’d still be awake all night knowing what was behind their expensive fence.

I like that story too. Did your brother and the neighbor end up being friendly or was the neighbor one of those standoffish ones?

That’s not a fence; it’s a row of sloppily piled up tires.

No, that is all part of it, but given the nature of knowing the lay of the land for the past 60 years or so, it wasn’t really given much thought. (it was our grandfather’s house)

But the survey was indeed done and duly recorded!

She can skip the disposal fee. Lake James is nearby...she can get rid of them there. Fish will love’em.

I think they were okay after that, but I think it has changed hands again since that time...and I believe my brother talked to the new people who moved in, just to make sure they understood!

Interesting...long running feud. Won’t be long before the muskets come out.

I guess it all depends on why they were asked to and we don’t know because the jooornolist apparently didn’t consider important. If it was because someones dogs or other animals were wandering out of their property it would be an appropriate request. As much as California sucks, sometimes I read the bullshit going on in other states and just shake my head, seems like every other state is jacked up one way or another too.

Good one also...

When I was in asphalt business would go into neighborhoods where driveways would be between every couple of houses or so, mostly because ‘back in the day’ where the neighbors probably built the houses at same time and would pave they driveway.

All it would take is for one guy to move or die or something or the kids grow up not liking each other and now they are ‘sharing’ a driveway.

Could get pretty ‘tricky when it came to resurfacing or replacing...

Chain link fence is cheap. I’m going to be replacing my current fence with http://www.illusionsfence.com.

It’s NOT cheap. About $285 per panel installed.

My in-laws house faces a river. The lots are straight but the river takes a curve. The next door neighbor couldn’t understand that when he looked out his window toward the river, he was overlooking my in-laws land. My FIL caught him one day actually moving the property line markers. He finally paid for a survey and had the markers replaced. Then, just because he wanted to, he parked his old rusty boat trailer down in the far corner of his lot. When my FIL died, I scrapped the old trailer. I didn’t want the jerk neighbor hassling my widowed MIL.

Well that is what I would do. If they were jerks I’d put the smooth side inwards.

It has been my observation that people can be turds about this kind of thing...and we wonder why so much violence was committed over land disputes throughout history!
