They have been showing a “rendering” of a hypersonic jet since I was a kid. IM 62!
Love it! Even almost has Trump’s hair. Looks like something from Kelly Freas.
Didn’t they call their last piece of vaporware the “Sonic Cruiser”?
New picture, or did they just recycle the one from 10 years ago?
In-flight service will be a flurry of activity.
“I dont know where this screwball idea came from but the proposed aircraft certainly wont be hypersonic at ground level.”
It’s to fly at altitude, not at ground level
I doubt this could be commercially viable for an airline.
By the time this would go into service, the passengers will be given ‘medication’ so they sleep the trip away.
Concord v.2.
Just make sure there arent any pieces of metal on the runway at takeoff.
The initial stage should begin 200 miles off the CA coast and end 200 miles from the Japanese coast.
Yes but you still have to get to the airport 4 hrs before departure.
If I were to guess, improved design would reduce the boom, plus at 95,000 feet, the air density is so low and the distance so large, would anyone hear it?
That thing will create holes in the ozone layer and cause widespread melanoma /s.

We are living in the future
I’ll tell you how I know

And talking with our minds
And wearing turquoise jewelry
And standing in soup lines
We are standing in soup lines
Horrible accident.
Whoa...never seen that picture before.
When I go the Philippines its freakin 12 hours MINIMUM. Japan is closer by an hour and most of my stops are in Narita. This will help.
Nor are ICBMs. But they do get going after a bit of altitude to take the aerodynamic loads off.
“When I go the Philippines its freakin 12 hours MINIMUM.”
My company wouldn’t pay the extra cost. Not sure how many would.
