We are a Republic but with two snippets of Democracy; one planned and one a mistake.
The framers gave Democracy a nod by having the House of Representives chosen by popular vote. But since the Reps only held office for two years, the madness of Democracy was limited.
The mistake came in 1913 when the Senate was turned from a forum for the States and given over to popular vote as well. This mistake still needs to be corrected.
I’m in the closet due to the nature of my work. No need to make my life difficult just because I am a Trump supporter. Although, it’s awfully annoying when one of my co-workers mention Trump and I get very tempted to tell ‘em “I voted for Trump, now what are you going to do about it?”
