I looked up the lapis that certainly looks like it. the article does say it’s an Imperial Villa so you are probably correct. No expense was spared. Thanks!

What do you suppose is the significance of the river location? I imagine that’s rare simply because of proximity to traffic and insects/ heat, whereas a hill top provides both fresh air and isolation.
