I saw him play at The Coffee Pot in Roanoke, Virginia on my 18th birthday in 1984. He could bend the strings.

88 years old? How'd that happen?
Why, just yesterday...
You betta think!

I think his credentials were established long before the Blues Brothers and I suppose RS used that to peak interest in the younger crowd

What an iconic movie. Have to see it at least once a year.
Sad that people under 40 may not even know The Blues Brothers. This year I asked a young (23) relative if he’d seen The Blues Brothers and when he said no, I said he should. He said only if I watch Titanic. NO DEAL. LOL.
To: Dr. Ursus
Four I do believe.
I’ll just have some dry, white toast.

No I didn’t. Honest... I ran out of gas! I—I had a flat tire! I didn’t have enough money for cab fare! My tux didn’t come back from the cleaners! An old friend came in from out of town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts! IT WASN’T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!!!

"We're putting the band back together". RIP MR. Murphy. How Elwood managed to keep a straight face whenever he said "We're on a mission from G-D" was worth the price of admission.☺

I ordered the opposite. Four tunas on rye, and a cup of tea.
I play accordion in a polka band now.
