Well here we are Art imitating Life or vice versa.

Anyone remember Richard Pryor's 1985 movie, "Brewster's Millions"?

Well one of the subplots of Pryor's character trying to spend $30 Million in a month was his investment in this venture. His company was going to take ice bergs to the Middle East to provide water and water for crop irrigation.

At the time I thought it was hilarious but was also intrigued by the possibility of this working. Now I see they were taking a few months ago about this for California's water problem.

I can't wait to see this pulled off and if it can be made to work.

This is truly brilliantly hysterical.

Here I am thinking “why has no one thought of this before?”

But they have, indeed they have!

This must be the 30th time that the suggestion to tow an iceberg to some location to alleviate a water shortage has been made but the number of successful times that it has been accomplished to date is equal Alec Baldwin’s IQ.

But why would you tow it anywhere?

Just chop it up, load it on a barge, and deliver it to your destination.

That has to be a whole lot easier than trying to guide a massive berg !

What’s old is new again.

This idea was discussed about 1978 or so.
