Fleetwood Mac has gone through a bunch of guitars and songwriters over the years.
And Lindsey Buckingham is by no means the best of them.
Mike Cambell will bring a another new sound and a different set of songs. Expect a new album. And Neil Finn adds depth at songwriting and atmospherics.
Again, Fleetwood Mac, born anew.
FYI: My favorite album is Then Play On.

Interesting combination, been a fan of Campbell and Finn for years. Curious to hear how it turns out.

Sorry, but when it comes to the Mac, for me it’s Peter Green or nothing. The band never had the edge that he brought after he departed.

Lindsey Buckingham has been involved with Fleetwood off and on for decades. He may be hard to get along with.

Neil Finn is a good vocal match for Buckingham.

“He may be hard to get along with.”
Now he’s been replaced.
And Fleetwood Mac are co-owners of his songs.

And Campbell can pretty much play anything. He should be able to nail Buckingham’s guitar parts with ease.

Fleetwood Mac did one good lp after Peter Green’s departure. After that, just another pop band. I got tired of Stevie Nicks whining very quickly, also.

"...Fleetwood Mac fires Lindsey Buckingham..."
Fleetwood Mac pretty much told him that he can go his own way...and since this happened earlier, it is secondhand news.

Bob Welch was pretty good. “Hypnotized” is probably my favorite Mac song.

Their 1973 ‘Mystery To Me’ album is my Fleetwood Mac favorite.

IMHO they took Buckingham to get Nicks.
They were living together at the time.

The good news is there will be new songs and likely a new album. A whole new era of creativity has launched for one of the best rhythm sections in rock history.
Only Wyman and Watts compares.

Glad to see Campbell get a good gig, although I’d like to see the Heartbreakers continue in some capacity.

Correct. They were a band and a contractual unit.
The Buckingham-Nicks Band. They had an album or two.
Nothing special. Syrup.

Well you have to have a certain ear that likes singers who sing whole songs through their nose.
Not really my cup of tea.

I had no idea they were still performing.
Marilyn Monroe and James Dean knew when to quit.
