Thank you so much for sharing... It is an explanation many people need to hear so maybe it will make them think about something they know in their gut is wrong with a given scenario.

I don’t see enough details of how it was initiated to know that, I will assume they did it legally for now and just say I am glad they got him, one less probable child predator on the street. I read about another within past couple days somewhere that got out on a technicality...
While I am unable to strongly come down on “the ends justifying the means” argument and I definitely understand what to say, yet in my own story (a long read above) I do wish in my heart of hearts, some one, in any way possible! That might have prevented my own suffering at the hands of my abuser, any way they could have.
Innocent children do not deserve to be out there, mostly alone and defenseless against such evil.
Good people often think they can or could “spot” a perp but the truth almost always is, they and we, simply do not!
Normal (mostly men) people simply are not so wired! It’s a special kind of “wiring” that does seem to have been loosed on society by instant access of their perversion on the web.
Some people so wired, might just have had deep dark thoughts of sex with children but never acted on it for fear of being exposed to society, punished and being outcast forever. Today, it’s a different story.
There should’ve been some red flags.
The fact you said something about “the end justifies the means” in your response tells me you understood where I was comin from. Yes these folks are a blithe on society but all I could picture is someone on the other end of the phone enticing this guy into committing... where other wise he may have just sat back in hiding and never do anything in fear of, as you said above, being exposed etc etc... like in the old days.

Great points again. My reason for posting, as i said before, condemning somebody for evil, that i somehow associated myself with... in this case a poorly chosen screen name 14 years ago for a political forum. It is also a great point in that these are regular people, alot of times people that a whole bunch of people look up to as role model status (not this guy specifically) just meaning people NOBODY would expect.

That is just a fake thing HG put on his “about” page. HG isn’t going anywhere - I view him as the odd Uncle we have to deal with at Thanksgiving - but then have funny stories that will last the rest of the year. I wish he would stick to just harassing the bloggers though sometimes.

Humblegunner’s guns aren’t so humble, but he’s usually correct and does not show the bottomless hatred of some FReepers for anyone posting what they disagree with. It’s the vitriol that gives them away and HG has little of that.
I ran a factory stock at Manzanita speedway for the 2000 season. I learned real quick the politics at a racetrack... LOL. It was incredible the whiners and cheaters. We ran a claimer class, meaning they wanted stock motors. With certain rules, at the end of the night, the winner could have his motor claimed for $400... some of these guys had 3K in their motors and wanted to fight or leave and never come back when somebody tried to claim. I rebuilt 2 motors to start the season, i had way less than 400 in both, besides hours upon hours of my time... it took half the season for me to get things figured out and start passing cars. I was only one running a manual transmission instead of automatic... did not shift in the race, took green in 2nd and left it there... almost 60mph lap times... an online friend sent me an aluminum corvette flywheel, stock gm part... after that i finished the season really strong, making the main every weekend and getting paid back a few bucks with plans to run again the next year... come back with same car, next spring, fails with numerous new rules including no aluminum flywheels...
Agreed on IROC too, just saying they missed that lesson.
I think 1987, when Bill Elliot showed up to unlimited with a built racecar and kicked their butts. Then they pushed over 200 at Talladega and Daytona and brought in restrictor plates. After they all started building cars instead of stock manufactured vehicles. That caused more accidents than letting them race. If they were worried about fans, dont sell first 100 rows and let them race. With restictor plates they had no power left to drive away to avoid an accident... they knew the risks they were taking, they knew they might die every time they went to the track... i told my kids i loved them before i went to the track too... a couple people died in the factory stock class at that track.... over its long history. Boring cookie cutter tracks was final nail.
I cant explain it... i had a 55 chevy growing up... at the drag strip every Thursday night for “run what you brung nite” instead of street racing. Still beyond my control at times... somebody pulled up to a light, revved that motor and gave me a nod and i told myself NO... that light turned green and motors spooled up and i am cursing at myself to stop this shit but i usually beat his ass, lifted off the gas and pulled over for 10 minutes to let my leg stop shaking... this was 35 years ago, hopefully statute of limitations have passed, I was lucky enough to never hurt anybody or cause an accident or anything thank God!
Whatever "they" did, he is the one who made the choice. Fortunately for some young children, he chose the wrong target.
This had nothing to do with the NASCAR.
