Yes SES, plus bonuses. A Deputy Director who leaves the job would generally stay in SES or perhaps GS15, but would still take a pay cut. That’s why the DD has always left when a new Director takes over. Outside offers are huge, especially compared to a pay cut.
I couldn’t agree more. You are absolutely correct. If all he cared about was a paycheck, he could go along to get along - but he doesn’t. He puts it all out there. I respect his commitment, and believe he is sincere. Yes, sometimes he is irritating, when he interrupts guests and disturbs the flow of the interview, but he is definitely well meaning.

If Hannity is more correct, and McCabe was fired today, then the whole had to get filled. I would expect that what’s left of the head of the FBI (Wray and Rosenstein) went there to discuss the temp appointment.
That’s just a guess.
I guess my thing is the memo needs to out, and then people need to be arrested.
We are a few inches away from nuclear war right now. Managing that and managing this is unsafe.
