Lived in Ventura up highway 33 for 11 years. I remember the fire where all the hillsides were ablaze. This is far worse. Stay safe, yall. I may live in Dallas now but I still am concerned for friends there.

"10 minutes ago, reported that the fire is close to reaching the ocean.Wow. I hope that doesn't start to burn. That would really be a disaster. (I'm from Detroit, where the Rouge River once caught fire. I know what could happen.)

That’s right where our boat is. All those palm trees are by a mobile home park next door to our marina. Better call my neighbors.

That IS sad. Ventura is such a beautiful city. My MIL was in a nursing home there for a few years, and passed in 2015. We did the drive between Simi Valley and Ventura at least once a week on the 118 for a long time.
Not to wish bad on anybody, but I hope the person who stole all of my MIL’s jewelry from her hands at the nursing home as she lay dying gets hit with a spark or two.

When I was in High School in CA, I watched a fire climb a hillside in under 3 seconds. It looked like the head of a match.
Best lesson I ever had in why distance means nothing when speaking about the peril of grass fires.

Armageddon is upon us. The Earth is DRYING UP. I can see this, many don't. This isn't about cars, or anything else man made. This is Armageddon in its early stages. Nearing the peak of a climate cycle which will result in scores of fires and carnage.
Whenever I see photos of Mars I wonder if at one time it looked like Earth and someday Earth will look like Mars.

Wow, hope it is okay.
On the way to an appointment with my doctor in Beverly Hills, there was fire on the freeway embankment. Firemen everywhere!
And the news was full of many, many new fires that appeared last night duet the Santa Ana winds which are hit, dry and gusting up to 75 MPH.
