What history?
“Better to keep one’s mouth shut and appear stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt”.
I think it’s funny.
There are levels of stupid.
Competing for the “unbelievably stupid” award are SJWs, “studies” faculty, and sportscasters.
It is a close contest.
Stay tuned.
I recall when Al did the Monday Night baseball games on ABC back in the mid to late 1980s, my Dad and I were watching a game and Al began talking (for some reason I certainly do not recall) about a game involving the elder Bobby Bonds (RIP) some time earlier in the 1970s.
In any event, Al and the other commentator continued to prattle on about this silly game until Al made a remark “out on a close play by Bobby Grich” and that had my Dad shaking his head and rolling his eyes as to how stupid and irrelevant Michaels could be in the way he went on about things like that.
Now, did Al apologize because it was an inappropriate joke or because it wasn’t funny?
What history?!? Why the invented one based on unproven accusations and innuendo. That is all the left needs to make it proven lore!!
As it turns out, while trump was out their talking about grabbing the p word, Hollywood actually was doing it.
I think we know the answer.
IIRC Michaels is fairly conservative.
I quit watching the NFL. Did anyone mention Bret Favre?
“Look at that little monkey run!”
We miss you, Howard....
...and Frank
.....and Don.
The fake history.
Apparently “Win one for Harvey” played well in the Giants locker room.
Yes. Al Michaels might be a Deplorable, in fact.
Howard??? I agree with you about Frank and Dandy Don.
“Would he be forced to apologize if the comment had been about Trump?”
It was a joke about a protected class. Male, white, Christian, and heterosexual is not a protected class.
“IIRC Michaels is fairly conservative.”
He definitely is.
Last time he got in trouble was during the Kerry vs W election. Between plays, the camera crew displayed a concession counter sprinkling powdered sugar on waffles. (they looked pretty good)
I don’t recall whether Kerry was in attendance at the game or not, but Michaels made the comment that Kerry would certainly be in the right place given the waffles. (Kerry was currently being labeled a “waffler” for changing his position on issues as politically expedient.
I think Michaels’ recent comment was funny. To compare a serial rapist like Weinstein to Trump’s comment that women who seek men of power will allow themselves to be groped is disingenuous at best, and partisan hack journalism at worst.
Al Michaels’ career has been riding for more than 35 years on a fortunate happenstance, when he got to call the 1980 USA-USSR Olympic hockey game.
Otherwise, he’d be some hack doing the Chargers or Browns play-by-play on CBS-BS, sharing the microphone with Bonzo or some former player who took a few too many hard hits during his time in the No Fans Left group.
I was about to post the very same thing.
The big lie, and the left keeps pushing.
