This has got to be the 5th or 6th article like this I've seen on yahoo. What's going on?

Is the smell of Axe a turn on? The heat in these classrooms getting to the women?

In my junior year I had a female teacher offer to drive me home, while driving she asked if I wanted to stop by her house. Being the idiot I was, I said no. A Costanza moment.
And at night school pretty much the same thing happened. I was such a dummy.

Mental illness and the inability to follow common decency

This behavior has become so commonplace that threads about such stories no longer deserve sniggering comments or pings to Laz about hit-ability. I admit I enjoyed the sophomoric banter as much as anyone, but enough is enough. What has happened to the nation’s morals?

Somewhat of a close call, but being that she’s only 27, decent looking in the photos (other than the mug shot), and the kid deserves a real ‘present’ for making it to 16 years old in a public school. I have to declare: NOT GUILTY!!

Judge John Steinheider drew attention to the timing of the offence, and told Lofing in court: “This alleged indiscretion, I’ll say, took place on the victim’s 16th birthday. “You were less than 24 hours away from a felony here.”

That's just brilliant, your honor. That's like saying that someone who goes to a bar and has a drink on their 21st B-day was just 24 hours away from breaking the law. Duh!

What I don't get is how she was breaking the law if 16 is the age of consent in NB? Is it because she was his teacher?

I find the sentence - even the fact of guilt - to be absurd. Not because of her looks, but because the age of consent in Nebraska is, apparently, 16. The judge said that she was less than 24 hours from a felony - which, if I understand either English or the law, means that she did NOT commit a felony. She/they PURPOSELY waited until he was old enough to be at the age of consent. That this was scummy of her to take advantage of a teenager is beyond doubt...but did she violate the letter of the law? I don’t think so.

Summer vacation. Nobody's going to be traumatized when they take the teacher away.
