“My bro was maybe 12...backed the car out right into a tree.
Many years later...we foumnd out that my dad had done the same thing when he was a little buck.”

My dad and my uncle snuck the family car out when they were very young. Neither of them was tall enough to reach the pedals and still see over the dashboard. So they took turns, with one staying on the floor to work the pedals while the other got to steer. At the time, it was a very rural area, and they pulled it off successfully.

The children were able to finish their cheeseburgers before police arrived.

Best part of the story.

From another source:

Officer Koehler said the child drove a mile from his home with his little sister in the back of the van. The journey took the 8-year-old through 4 intersections, over railroad tracks and also required him to make a few right hand turns and a left hand turn.

Witnesses told police he did obey all traffic laws and drove the speed limit.

Dang, that's something.

The child reportedly drove about a mile through four intersections and over railroad tracks during the joyride. Witnesses told police the boy obeyed “all traffic laws and drove the speed limit,” according to the report.

I'd rather have him on the road than 80% of the drivers I see on the way home.

When I was 11, I drove the car around the yard. Our Hungarian neighbor lady spotted me; never said a word to my dad. Good neighbor.
