Vanna, Pick Me a Letter by David “Dr. Dave” Kolin

When I was a kid I thought it was sung by Cheech and Chong, lol.

“Got me a ticket for an aeroplane (All right!); I’m on the Wheel of Fortune game. I just love that sound. I’m in the bonus round! Hey, Vanna, pick me a letter. (Lose a turn? Hey, Pat, lose THIS!)”

Dang - clicking thru the comments brought back so many memories!

Fire - Arthur Brown - One of the greatest voices in R&R.
In the Year 2525 - Zager & Evans - stupid song, but every time I see that number it pops into my head.

Here’s a few I didn’t see:

Tennessee Birdwalk - Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan
Louisiana Man - Doug Kershaw
Moulty - The Barbarians
Butter Boy - Fanny
Gold - John Stewart

Not sure this qualifies as a hit, but it rose to #71 on the Billboard Hot 100. It should have risen much higher.

Dave Brubeck - Take Five

Not sure why he's listed as a one-hit wonder here; Brubeck was fantastic and had a huge following. Maybe because it was his only crossover hit?

The original Soldier Boy, doo wop, 1955, from the Korean War years

Elvis later did a cover of this. Then there was a completely different one by the Shirelles. This one is the real stuff.
