Apologies. I misunderstood. Nothing changes for the Vets availibilty to the VA’s systems. It’s just the tax credit at issue.
How this “screws” the Vets, I don’t understand.
I am a veteran.. should something happen to me, and it will... this bill says go to the VA or you lose tax credits. If the VA is so great, every Medicare recipient and the congressional rats and their families should be forced to go also. This is an attack on veterans and I won’t stand for it. Substandard care, for veterans.. but not for illegals or or their subsidy takers.
Apply this standard to all subsidy citizens.. go to the healthcare facility the govt choooses for you, or else!
It all has to do with not allowing these tax credits to be used for abortion services.
I have access to VA, like all vets, but choose TriCare because it allows me the best options.
VA is a staffed with bureaucrats that are government leeches (mostly) and incompetent and can't be fired.
Still won’t go there!
VA hospitals are just like any other unit in the service. Some are great, some suck. Some have great leadership, some cant bring themselves to hang up a picture of the current Commander-in-Chief.
My daughter is an RN at the Wichita VA. Stop by if you are in need. They will take care of you there.
My main bitch with ObamaCare is its constitutionality, or lack there of, and the fact that it is ‘on the books’. Everything else is just crap the politicians can use to punch their daily clock on for as long as they can milk it.
I am too, and I’ve used the VA hospitals in Denver, LA, and Seattle. Currently in their version of managed care and it is excellent. Frankly I often leave an appointment amazed at how good the service is.
There is generally a wait of several weeks for regular appointments but my wife’s Primera plan through work is pretty much the same in this regard. I can always opt to walk in the urgent care clinic or the ER. OR I can go to one of the military hospitals nearby.
So why should I care if I MIGHT lose a tax subsidy to buy insurance with a huge copay? Oh that’s right, I dont!
Ping Military/Veterans
You’ve got it right. It’s small potatoes.
A few years back Ryan, as part of a continuing resolution, “postponed” all COLA adjustments for military retirees and disabled veterans until age 65. Later congress reinstated COLA for disabled veterans, but not retiree. All while illegals and refugees get feebies
