What does this mean?? The IGFA has many rules to qualify you for a record catch.
For example: Only one angler can fight the fish- the rod, reel and line must meet certain requirements- the wire leader has to conform to certain lengths, and the fish must be fought by one angler attached to the rod and reel and not from a rod holder permanently mounted in the boat gunnel, and many more requirements, including how you boat the fish.
They were out tuna fishing and would fight big tuna with the rod in a holder mounted on the side of the boat.
The IGFA would disqualify any catch made that way on any species of fish. -Tom
