I was part of the Tea party. Still am.
Went to 3 major DC Tea party events with so many people I couldn’t get to the main speakers area. Millions came and the media was absent that day.Got to see Washington though.
“But the Tea Party never really amounted to anything...”
*************************************************************
The demographics of the TP indicate members (believers) are older mostly but with some in the 30-40 yr old group, Democrat as well as republican, of various religious back rounds.
The TP was responsible for the massive march on Washington DC in 2010 in which over 1 million showed up. The TP was responsible for bringing to the attention of enough people what was going on in Washington that the results were a total demolition of the De4m Party in that yrs midterms.
The TP is not nearly so much a physical organization as it is a belief and one shared by an overwhelming number of peole.
This is why I love this place. I got a bunch of encouraging remarks and some advice and wisdom I hadn’t even considered and then a remark like this that made me laugh so hard I literally cried.
“Is she hot? If so, do her and get that fantasy over with. If not, never think of her again.”
“And do you remember how thousands and thousands of actual racists in our country heard on TV that the Tea Party was a racist organization and then said to their own racist selves “Hellfire, since I’m a dang racist I want to be in the Tea Party Too!” It seems like we got saddled with those illiterate racist creeps for all time.”
I agree with you about democrats, but I have to take issue with your conclusion.
Like man-made global warming, the epidemic of gun-caused violence and “income inequality”, “racism” is a made-up construct, a boogeyman concocted by leftists to legitimize their socialist agenda. These tragic social conflicts exist, and we need the government to raise taxes and create more tax funded redistributive programs and departments to solve them, or so the story goes.
I am in the Philadelphia area and as a contractor, 9 ball league enthusiast and member of a classic rock cover band, I interact with many, many people of all races, types and persuasions. I even did 30 days in county lock up one time (long, stupid story).
Racism that I see, if it exists at all, is far different than the racism pushed on tv shows, the news media and the democrat party. Yes there are ethnic jokes, but everyone tells them, and everyone laughs. Yes, the various ethnicities sometimes feel comfortable grouping together with there own, but what I see is politeness, respect - people holding doors for eachother, working together, and race is not an issue.
Until, that is, I turn on the tv. The the ugliness of racism and bigotry is everywhere, central to every movie, every sit com, every talk show, news story. It’s such a tired cliche and I’m so sick of it.
I'm a NAZI she's a NAZI wouldn't you like to be a NAZI too?
Be a NAZI. Paint a swastika on the sidewalk. Be a NAZI.
;^)
That’s exactly right. The TEA Party was (and is) a movement not an organization. And, without a political party or an organization we just elected our very own president!
My favorite attack line from a Hillary lover (friend of a friend) on Facebook after I presented her with Facts regarding The Butcheress of Benghazi, and I quote “Anybody with a Uterus is smarter than you”.
Still my favorite retort from a Braindead Liberal Woman. LOL
Which proves she has no facts to work on in her argument. They throw that word around and think it delivers a punch.. actually it makes them dumb and vacant.
