Not even that, they’ve mapped the genome of the mammoth and they’re just changing areas of the elephant genome to produce hair and little ears.

They’re not using 10,000’s year old DNA.

I saw a program not long ago where scientists claim they have isolated 100% genetic coding for the reportedly extinct Tasmanian Tiger. I say reportedly extinct, because there are still people today who claim they have seen this species in the wild.
