I posted my comment below about a week ago about Gorsuch. It was late and didn’t get much play. I should think his Church membership could be easily researched for the truth of this:
“This was recently posted on the Free Republic Illinois site, regarding Judge Gorsuch. A Red Flag warning (oh, oh):

Washington National Cathedral was established well over a century ago when Anglicanism was the major Christian denomination of a lot of prominent political leaders in the United States. Today its one of the fastest declining Christian denominations and a shell of what it used to be the United States. There are a handful of pro-life conservatives still in the Episcopalian Church USA, but theyre very rare. Most of their conservative members have left as the church became increasingly liberal over the years.
Its true that most American Presidents have attended services at Washington National Cathedral, its also true that theres a sculpture of Muhammad on the Supreme Court building in Washington D.C. Those facts would not justify a Supreme Court nominee being a member of a radical mosque in Dearborn, MI that preaches Sharia law, and it does not justify a conservative Supreme Court nominee being a member of a leftist church in Boulder, CO with a female priest that marches with women dressed as vaginas and has a partnership at the church to promote LGBTQ rights.
Is it possible that Judge Gorsuch is really a Scalia-type conservative and does not share the views of the liberal church hes worshipped at for years? Yes, its possible. Its also possible Barack Obama is actually proud of this country does not share the God Damn America views of Rev. Wright despite attending that church for years. But if I was a betting man I wouldnt put my money on either possibility.
Simply put: Episcopalians today tend to be very liberal. Being an Episcopalian by itself is not necessarily a sign that someone holds left-wing views. But attending a liberal church for years is definitely a bad sign and makes it unlikely that Gorsuch will be the second coming of Scalia.
“Im not even claiming this guy is a stealth liberal, simply that his views appear to be far closer to Sandra Day OConnor than Clarence Thomas.
If FReepers want to take the risk of giving this guy a lifetime job appointment to Scalias seat because theres a slim possibility he MIGHT secretly share Scalias beliefs, thats your business.
I will be urging the Senate to oppose this nominee.”
I don't think a problem if other people do also.
He’s a liberal. No man can attend a church as liberal as that Colorado church he attends, which fully embraces liberal theology and politics, and not hold those positions. We’re screwed.
If he said it, I agree.
Settle down Francis... this was quoted by a democrat. Who knows what was said in what context. The dems have lost and lost and lost this week. They are desperate to put points on the board. Let them.
This wasn’t by Judge Gorsuch, it is reported hearsay and part of the political posturing typical on Capitol Hill, made worse with President Trump’s historic landslide victory. President Trump has not been too worried about people voicing disagreement with him, so I doubt this is a big deal, whether true or not. Besides, President Trump is speaking out for different reason than Judge Gorsuch, so no surprise they view this differently. I can’t speak for President Trump, but for myself, it is all a big yawner.
Don’t doubt the Trump.
No. Gorsuch will be a supreme Supreme Court justice.
You have to take it with a grain of salt given the source. NEVER trust a liberal sowing seeds of dissension.
Alright, reality check time. No one in the legal profession is going to publicly endorse Trump’s tweets about the federal judge, regardless of their ideology. Even if they completely agree with him...
It’s hard to make out what is true anymore. If a Democrat was the source of the comments, I’d say he is probably more solid than we realize and more frightful to the Democrats. Democrats are more into a “spread lies” mode than ever. I’d stick with him.
Remember Souter. He admits that he said those things. He belongs to the most pro-abortion denomination possible. Get rid of him!
Wow, just wow! YOU are so easily manipulated and disheartened. You probably should “Be Careful” least you mutate into “Weak Sister”.
Criticizing judicial activists who violate the prerogatives of the Legislative and Executive branches is not only not demoralizing, it is a moral imperative. If Gorsuch has a problem with what Trump and conservatives are doing, he should withdraw his nomination.
So?
I’m not going to agree with Trump 100% either ....
My main worry about him is Columbia, Harvard and Oxford. They are not good schools and are simply indoctrination centers for those tapped to enter the establishment.
We need to move away from the mentality that only Ivy trained lawyers are eligible.
This whole idea is utter nonsense from start to finish. Gorsuch is a great choice and I cannot believe anyone is so easily manipulated by the Democrats.
It’s just tactics to throw off the Rats. Gorsuch said whatever he said to make himself look independent. It might not change many Rat senator minds but showing “independent thinking” may get him enough confirmation votes to avoid the nuclear option for a while.
I only care that he follows the constitution in his judgements. He is allowed to have opinions outside the court.
Dump him!
