. . . but note well, Trump provided a list of dozens of potential SCOTUS nominees. That meant that he was not specifically committed to one in particular, but, OTOH each one represented a target whom the Democrats could use to discredit Trump:"See, if you vote for Trump so-and-so will be on the Supreme Court. But the Democrats defaulted on that possible target. And note well Hillary did not put out her own list.I for one voted Trump because, first, the alternative was Hillary, and second, Trump promised the nomination of a SCOTUS justice whom knowledgable conservatives respected. Many other voters voted Trump only because of his SCOTUS nomination pledge. Trump won. Hillary didnt. Trumps nomination cannot be seriously described as "out of the mainstream. Anyone making such a claim is out to lunch.
I voted Trump because I didn’t want Hillary to EVER be anywhere near National Security again. EVER.
As noted above, #NeverHillary was my first motivation. Included in #NeverHillary is that her SCOTUS nomination(s) would be worse than Garlands. But I am far from the only conserver of Christianity who affirmatively liked the reaction of respected judiciary watchers to Mr. Trumps list.
The Democratic Party should, in some way, have to answer for the very fact that it nominated for POTUS (and thereby politically gave a measure of criminal immunity to) someone with Hillarys cavalier attitude toward illegal breaches of security. And her sense of entitlement generally.
