Arlen Specter actually started out as a Democrat who switched to Republican, and then switched back to a Democrat late in his career.

Her career will be doomed by the “arrogant-plastic-media-figures-who-believe he/she-is-far-more-important-than-they-really-are” effect.

Her choice was wrong headed and motivated by ego and not wisdom. The people at NBC will not respect her—and behind her back, mock her. They want her to lead the Anti-Trump brigades to make sure he’s a failed president so the Democratic/Progresssives and take over the house and Senate in 2018 and the white House (Warren is my bet) in 2020. She is being used. If she doesn’t play along, or if Trump is a success, she will be dropped and end up on MSNBC or worse.

No, NBC will be ... and they will push her with phony numbers until they can no longer ignore the truth.
That's why I said two years.

the actor who left That 70s Show for a movie career, believing he was all that. Ashton Kutcher? He's done phenomenally well. According to Wikipedia, Kutcher left the show in its last season due to scheduling conflicts with a movie he was making. He later married Demi Moore. Now he's a venture capitalist, after making lots of money on early technology investments.

How about the “Chevy Chase effect?”

Lou Costello suffered the same fate.

“I think her downfall at NBC will be quick. She won’t retain her Fox News audience and the new liberal audience will be hostile to her for merely having worked at Fox.”
Yep. She will make Katie Couric at CBS look like the greatest success story in broadcast journalism
To: pepsionice
Maybe she can host PBS pledge drives like Paula Zahn
To: PJ-Comix
No. It will be doomed because of the me,me,me,me me-again Kelly effect.

Yes, she settled for a tabloid-news program. Interestingly, she replaced Bill O'Reilly, who left that show to join the start-up Fox News Channel. O'Reilly successfully shed his tabloid veneer.
Perhaps Norville can follow a similar path late in her career?

Her best hope is if they bring back Hollywood Squares.

Wow, I never watched MASH, but I DID watch the Maclean Stevenson show a few times. I must be a 1%er.

"She will probably end up on a cooking show like Couric."Or even worse: Remember about a decade ago, Marisa Tomei - having been bitten by the Oscar Curse harder than any woman alive - very unhappily humping a *cookbook* The Celebrity Italian Table, on the TODAY show, said segment hosted by ... wait for it ... Couric. BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAA.
Can't wait for Smelly introducing Octavia Spencer's "The Hep" cookbook..Fried chicken and shit pie...Bring it, bitches...

He actually had a very good career after that. He moved on to the album rock stations after the top 40 thing ended.
