What time of day (in DC) will Trump actually take the Oath of Office?

I’m really thinking about taking the day off from work. I’m not the world’s biggest Trump fan but I am going to be SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad to see Obama GO AWAY and also NOT see Hillary! taking the oath.

I want to be home, watching the tube and hanging on the live thread that will be trending here for sure!

I want to see Soetoro and Pelosi (because she signed all those perjurious affidavits), and JarJar, and a bunch other people frog-marched off the stage before the Inaugural Address begins.

As with Congressional committee hearings and State of the Union addresses, any disruptors at the Inauguration would probably be provided all the passes and credentials they need by their Democrat-member-of-Congress enablers.

The venue for the Inauguration is normally outdoors, not indoors like committee hearings or the SOTU, both much smaller and more restrictive venues and far less popular occasions. I say “normally” because, i.e., Reagan’s 2nd Inauguration took place in the White House because it had become frigid in DC. All events were cancelled except the swearing in itself, which date/time is Constitutionally mandated.

There is absolutely no comparison between a committee hearing and an Inauguration. Inaugurations are massive events. Committee meetings are held in what is a large conference room. The comparison would be like comparing a Trump campaign rally to a Clinton campaign rally then multiplying out hundreds of times.

I can’t remember a disrupted SOTU, not to say it hasn’t happened, but the passes to those are very restricted because of the limited quarters, and usually go to spouses or someone else very important to the Member. They’re not inclined to waste their ticket on a disruptor, and any disruptor would be carried out in a New York minute.

The Park Service, as I understand it, has issued permits to opposition groups in other parts of DC, away from the official events. That isn’t to say some agitators won’t come to the Mall or other venue sites, but they will be hard pressed to gain entry anywhere near the POTUS. If they do they may regret it when they encounter Trump supporters en masse.

And for President Trump, ONCE IS ENOUGH; unlike BO’B who found a need to take the ‘oath’ twice in BOTH terms.

First inauguration day a secret oath (do over) done the second time.

Second inauguration day a secret oath the day BEFORE (a Sunday) the public oath. The lame excuse used is now forgotten. Rules must be different when the won is not a NBC.

I generally agree with everything you wrote. I personally hope you are right and any planned protests occur peacefully and well away from the actual ceremony. It is the “guerrilla” protesters who do not intend to obey the rules that worry me.

You would think that a Congress member would shy away from doing anything to aid such a disruption. However, the level of bitterness being expressed this long after the election by hardcore Left Democrats (admittedly a small number) is unprecedented and collusion between one of them and a willing protest group remains possible. All that is required to accomplish the disruption is for admitted, well dressed attendees to periodically stand up and begin shouting at the top of his or her lungs during the speech. Suddenly, the news of the day will be protests and disruption.

Of course, one must also not exclude the other possible disruptive event at such large gatherings: the terror attack. While screenings and security will be tight within the controlled admission area, very little precludes an attack on the queueing crowds gathering outside them. Prime locations for multiple “Lone Wolf” attacks. As the club shooting attack last night demonstrated, these murderers will readily adopt disguise to gain entrance to target venues.

At this point I’d like to see DC or the feds do like the NYPD and block every intersection with huge dump trucks. They may do just that ... it’s cheap enough and been successful for NYC both at the T’giving Day parade and now NYE @ Times Square ... both just lovely soft targets for a suicide mission.

Look @ the 1.22-1.23 mark of this tape for a visual on the crowd. That’s the dignitary end. The ‘masses’ are as packed in for city blocks back from the Capitol. Then again at 1:25 mark they refer to SIX (6) layers of security the public had to go thru to get into the Mall below the Capitol. I can’t imagine it hasn’t gotten a LOT tighter since 2001. Still, keep your fingers crossed!
