Didn’t Trump just say he didn’t want to do that?

He said he didn’t, but when his FBI chief recommends charges...

Didnt Trump just say he didnt want to do that? Trump cowardly announced today, through surrogates, that his admin will not pursue Hillary.... and "his admin" includes the AG and DOJ.
She's going to get off scott-free, and JW is rightfully upset with that... so am I.
To: heterosupremacist
Trump doesn’t have to do it. Nothing however to stop the FBI and DOJ from pursuing it after Jan.

Agreed. The Clinton Crime Family has behaved, as Obama has, as though they were above the law and the Constitution - arrogant “deplorables who are irredeemable.”
Well it’s time to show that corruption, ESPECIALLY among top government officials, will not be tolerated. Why should officials like Clinton, whose wages WE pay, get a free pass when lower echelon government workers and private citizens don’t?

Justice demands that she be prosecuted for her crimes. If Trump has truly decided not to prosecute, it is a terrible decision. He will be acquiescing to her accumulation of wealth by selling access and policy. It will haunt him throughout his Presidency if he fails to act. He will lose a good deal of his core support.

Obama now has the cover to pardon her, since Trump isn’t interested in it anymore

through surrogates
Apparently, it also came from his own mouth during his sitdown with the NYT. I don't care what Trump personally wants to do or doesn't want to do to the Clintons. I just hope that he won't prevent the DOJ from doing their thing.

Apparently, it also came from his own mouth during his sitdown with the NYT. Coming from his own mouth and coming from the keyboard of a NYT blogger are often very different things.
In either event, he should know this is a huge broken campaign promise, and he's cowardly to break the news hiding behind surrogates... especially the NYT.
I was one of his biggest supporters on here, and this absolutely infuriates me.

At this point, the more critical issue is securing the classified information put on Hillary's rogue server (and beyond). If the process of doing so requires not prosecuting Hillary so that the information remains controlled, as much as they can, I am fine with that. Just my opinion having worked 30 years in S/TS/SCI environments.
Now, about the Clinton foundation ... It would be great to nail the Clintons on that and make them a *LOT* poorer.

DING! DING! DING! Only a complete idiot would push for the prosecution and charging on Clintoon before the inauguration. If Trump pushes or shows his hand, Oworthless will pardon her and she gets to walk.

Here’s the way I think he’s approaching it
1) He won’t spend ANY of his time on Hillary for now. Too many other things for Trump and his cabinet to focus on
2) He won’t stop anything the FBI is doing.
3) He will tell his AG to approve any Clinton-related request the FBI makes
3) He will consider the FBI’s recommendation(s) when made
4) If the FBI recommends indictment he’ll then spend time to determine if his AG should handle it or a special prosecutor should be used. Once he has the FBI recommendation he’ll have something to base his decision on. Right now he doesn’t have concrete evidence so it would be an issue if he says he’ll do anything. He should stay out of the FBI’s business, unlike Obama/Lynch.

I'm happy to wait until after Jan 20 before I start clutching my pearls.
It might be that there are good reasons to not pursue it. On the other hand, DJT might be doing this because he knows an IRS investigation is active against the Clinton Foundation. He might be letting them do the dirty work and just staying above it.
In any case, I'm not feeling the need to freak out just yet.

Now, about the Clinton foundation ... It would be great to nail the Clintons on that and make them a *LOT* poorer. Kellyanne said on MSNBC today that not only will Trump not pursue Hillary on the email server, but he won't go after the Clinton Foundation either.
That's a pretty definitive statement of his new position on the matter. I don't see any way to be optimistic after seeing/hearing that.... and she surely didn't say these things without his blessing.
