Officer Julian Garcia, who was on his second week of the job and spotted a Mazda......
I hope they mean “ the job” of having a ride along.....
An . Ar 15. Style. Pistol.
What???
Last night I had to leave my old Dakota in a Waffle House parking lot with a seized up front brake. I called a wrecker to come get in the morning and carry it home. When it got here and was unloaded I noticed something new. There is an indubitable bullet hole in the driver’s door in the middle about 10 inches below the window. Fortunately the window was up. There is no corresponding hole through the trim panel. I took the panel off and there was a .45 slug lodged in the inside strut. I have felt like shooting that old truck on occasion but I probably would have shot the computer box.
That struck me as odd too.
What is an AR15 style pistol?
Without the buttstock you can get one with a barrel under 16".
They make ‘em, and their beautiful!
Check out SIG Sauer website.
Seems expensive to use in a crime!!!?
....an AR15 style pistol is what you say when you don’t know what else to say.....and didn’t write down what was said at the news er.....and you want to impress your editor who’s anti gun
Under federal law, a rifle must have a barrel of at least 16 inches and a minimum overall length. Otherwise, it can become a "Short-Barreled Rifle" and require a federal permit.
If one does the right things to an AR15 mechanism, it is possible to have it qualify as a handgun and avoid the SBR nonsense. Others may be able to provide more details.
I bet he got a real steal on it.
Wonder how crippled the ballistics are from one of those.
“An AR-15 style pistol”
Huh, what?
This is an AR-15 style upper and lower without the buttstock. Without the buttstock, and not shouldered, it's considered a pistol, and manufacturers provide uppers with short barrels under 16".
There's a fine line between a pistol in this configuration and a Short Barreled Rifle (SBR). Definitionally, an SBR has a stock that is shouldered and a barrel less than 16" in length.
There are certain items on the market like the SIG Brace that look like a stock, but isn't and isn't marketed as such which cause confusion.
What???
You know, a "scary looking" pistol.
Ohhh, sort of like an automatic assault Glock.
